CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSAXLE SYSTEM FAIL-SAFE CHART
Description
This function minimizes the loss of the Continuously Variable Transaxle (CVT) system functions when a malfunction occurs in a sensor or solenoid valve.
Fail-safe
Fail-safe control list:
Malfunctioning Part
Function
Transmission revolution sensor (NT)
The oil pressure of the primary pulley and secondary pulley is set to a specified value. The opening angle of the throttle valve is limited to reduce input torque.
Transmission revolution sensor (NOUT)
Transmission revolution sensor (NIN)
Shift solenoid valve SL
The ECM stops sending current to the shift solenoid valve SL, and forward and reverse clutch control is performed mechanically. Lock-up clutch control is canceled.
Shift solenoid valve SC
The ECM stops sending current to the shift solenoid valve SC, and forward and reverse clutch control is performed mechanically. Lock-up clutch control is canceled.
Shift solenoid valve SLU
The ECM stops sending current to the shift solenoid valve SLU, and forward and reverse clutch control is performed mechanically. Lock-up clutch control is canceled.
Shift solenoid valve SLP
The gear ratio is limited to a specified range.
Shift solenoid valve SLS
The gear ratio is set to a specified value.
The lock-up range is limited to a particular range.
CVT fluid temperature sensor
The ECM sets the fluid temperature to a predetermined value to perform normal control.
