CAMSHAFT OIL CONTROL VALVE(for Exhaust Side) ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY

   
   

   1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

   2. Start the engine.

   3. Turn the GTS on.

   4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Active Test / Control the Exhaust VVT OCV Duty Ratio Bank 1.

      
      Powertrain > Engine > Active Test

      Tester Display
      Control the Exhaust VVT OCV Duty Ratio Bank 1

   5. Check the engine speed while operating the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly (for exhaust camshaft) using the GTS.

      Standard Condition
      GTS Operation Engine Condition 0% Normal engine speed 100% Engine idles roughly or stalls

      Tech Tips

      Refer to "Data List / Active Test" [Exhaust VVT OCV Control Duty Ratio Bank 1 and Exhaust VVT Change Angle Bank 1].

      If the operation is not as specified, check the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly, wire harness and ECM.
