SHIFT LEVER REMOVAL

PROCEDURE

  1. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY

  2. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Move the shift lever to N.

      Remove the shift lever knob sub-assembly from the shift lever assembly.

  3. DISCONNECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY

    1. C272800

      Disconnect the end of the transmission control cable assembly from the shift lever assembly.

      Shift Lever Assembly

      Using a screwdriver, pull out the stopper of the transmission control cable assembly.

      Note:

      Do not remove the stopper. If it is removed, reinstall it to its original position.

      Nut

      Rotate the nut counterclockwise approximately 180° and, while holding the nut in that position, disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the shift lever assembly.

      Note:

      Do not rotate the nut excessively as the interior spring may come off and the transmission control cable assembly will not be reusable.

  4. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY

    1. w/o Smart Entry and Start System:

        Transmission Control Switch Connector

        Indicator Light Wire Sub-assembly Connector

        *c

        Shift Lock Control ECU Connector

        Disconnect the transmission control switch connector.

      2. Disconnect the indicator light wire sub-assembly connector.

      3. Disconnect the shift lock control ECU connector.

      4. Disengage the 5 clamps and separate the wire harness from the shift lever assembly.

    2. w/ Smart Entry and Start System:

        Shift Lock Control ECU Connector

        Disconnect the transmission control switch connector.

      2. Disconnect the indicator light wire sub-assembly connector.

      3. Disconnect the shift lock control ECU connector.

      4. Disengage the 5 clamps and separate the wire harness from the shift lever assembly.

      Remove the 4 bolts and shift lever assembly from the body.
