FRONT WIPER MOTOR REMOVAL

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Tip:

  • Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.

  • The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.

PROCEDURE

  1. PRECAUTION

    Note:

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (Click here).

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Click here).

  3. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM HEAD CAP

      Using a screwdriver, remove the front wiper arm head cap.

      Tip:

      • Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

      • Use the same procedure for all front wiper arm head caps.

  4. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH

      Remove the nut and front wiper arm and blade assembly LH.

  5. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH

      Remove the nut and front wiper arm and blade assembly RH.

  6. REMOVE HOOD TO COWL TOP SEAL

      Using a clip remover, detach the 7 clips and 2 claws, and remove the hood to cowl top seal.

  7. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER LH (except 1WW)

      Detach the 2 claws and 2 guides, and remove the center cowl top ventilator louver.

    2. E184707

      Remove the clip.

    3. Detach the 6 claws and 5 guides, and remove the cowl top ventilator louver LH.

  8. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER LH (for 1WW)

      Detach the 2 claws and 2 guides, and remove the center cowl top ventilator louver.

      Remove the clip.

      Screwdriver

    3. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws as shown in the illustration.

    4. Detach the 3 claws and 5 guides, and remove the cowl top ventilator louver LH.

  9. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH (except 1WW)

      Remove the clip.

    2. Detach the 4 claws and 5 guides, and remove the cowl top ventilator louver RH.

  10. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH (for 1WW)

      Remove the clip.

      Screwdriver

    2. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws as shown in the illustration.

    3. Detach the 2 claws and 5 guides, and remove the cowl top ventilator louver RH.

  11. REMOVE FRONT WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the connector. Then detach the clamp and remove the wire harness from the cowl top panel.

      Remove the 2 bolts.

    3. E184711

      Move the wiper cushion in the direction shown by the arrow in the illustration to detach the wiper cushion from the body and remove the wiper motor and link.

  12. REMOVE FRONT WIPER CRANK SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Using a screwdriver, disconnect the wiper rod of the wiper motor and link assembly from the front wiper crank pivot of the windshield wiper motor as shown in the illustration.

      Tip:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

      Place matchmarks on the wiper motor, front wiper crank sub-assembly and nut.

      Front Wiper Crank Sub-assembly

    3. Remove the nut and front wiper crank.

      Tip:

      Hold the front wiper crank sub-assembly by hand when loosen the nut.

  13. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Using a T30 ''TORX'' socket, remove the 2 bolts and windshield wiper motor.

  14. REMOVE WIPER MOTOR WIRE

      Detach the claw and remove the wiper motor wire.
