MULTI-MODE MANUAL TRANSAXLE OIL REPLACEMENT

PROCEDURE

1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

2. REMOVE REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER LH

   Click here

3. DRAIN MANUAL TRANSAXLE OIL

   1. 

      *1	Manual Transmission Filler Plug
      *2	Manual Transmission Drain Plug

      Remove the manual transmission filler plug and gasket.

   2. Using a 10 mm hexagon socket wrench, remove the manual transmission drain plug and gasket to drain the manual transaxle oil.

   3. Using a 10 mm hexagon socket wrench, install a new gasket and the manual transmission drain plug.

      45 N*m

      33 ft.*lbf

4. ADD MANUAL TRANSAXLE OIL

   1.

      0 to 5 mm

      Add manual transaxle oil until the oil level is between 0 and 5 mm (0.197 in.) from the bottom lip of the transmission filler plug opening.

      Manual Transaxle Oil

      Toyota Genuine Manual Transmission Gear Oil "LV GL-4 and SAE 75W" or "API GL-4 and SAE 75W"

      Standard Capacity

      2.4 liters (2.5 US qts, 2.1 Imp.qts.)

   2. Install a new gasket and the transmission filler plug.

      39.2 N*m

      400 kgf*cm

      29 ft.*lbf

      Note:

      • When adding manual transaxle oil, make sure that the vehicle is level.

      • An excessively large or small amount of manual transaxle oil may cause problems.

      • After adding manual transaxle oil, drive the vehicle and recheck the oil level.

5. INSPECT FOR OIL LEAK
