FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY REASSEMBLY

Tip:

  • Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  • The following procedure is for the LH side.

PROCEDURE

  1. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION EDGE PROTECTOR

      Engage the 2 claws to install the front seat cushion edge protector as shown in the illustration.

      Tip:

      Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  2. INSTALL SEAT FRAME SET BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Engage the 4 claws to install the seat frame set bracket sub-assembly to the front seat cushion spring assembly.

  3. INSTALL FRONT SEAT HEADREST INSERT SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Install the front seat headrest insert sub-assembly as indicated by the arrows, in the order shown in the illustration to install the separate type front seatback spring assembly.

  4. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK SPRING ASSEMBLY

    1. Clean the bolt hole on the separate type front seat cushion spring assembly.

    2. Clean the bolt threads of the 4 bolts.

    3. Apply adhesive to the threads of the 4 bolts.

      Adhesive

      Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1324, Three Bond 1324 or equivalent

      Using a T45 "TORX" socket wrench, install the separate type front seatback spring assembly to the separate type front seat cushion spring assembly with the 4 bolts.

      Engage the 2 guides as indicated by the arrows, in the order shown in the illustration to install the front seat cushion cable.

      Using a T20 "TORX" socket wrench, install the 2 screws.

  5. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER

      Using hog ring pliers, install the separate type front seatback cover to the separate type front seatback pad with 14 new hog rings.

      Note:

      • Be careful not to damage the separate type front seatback cover.

      • Be sure to securely install the hog rings as shown in the illustration while preventing wrinkles from forming on the separate type front seatback cover.

  6. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD

    1. Install the separate type front seatback cover with pad to the separate type front seatback spring assembly.

      Install the front seat hinge cover LH and front seat hinge cover RH as shown in the illustration.

      Engage the 2 hooks.

  7. INSTALL RECLINING REMOTE CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY (for 3 Door)

    2. Engage the 2 claws to install the reclining remote control cable assembly.

      Engage the guide pin and connect the left cable of the reclining remote control cable.

    4. Engage the 2 claws.

    5. Engage the hook.

  8. INSTALL RECLINING REMOTE CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 3 Door)

      Connect the reclining remote control cable assembly to the reclining remote control lever sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

      Engage the 2 claws.

      Engage the guide to install the reclining remote control lever sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

      Using a T20 "TORX" socket wrench, install the screw.

  9. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER

      Using hog ring pliers, install the separate type front seat cushion cover to the separate type front seat cushion pad with 8 new hog rings.

      Note:

      • Be careful not to damage the separate type front seat cushion cover.

      • Be sure to securely install the hog rings as shown in the illustration while preventing wrinkles from forming on the separate type front seat cushion cover.

  10. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER WITH PAD

    1. Engage the 10 hooks to install the separate type front seat cushion cover with pad to the separate type front seat cushion spring assembly.

      3. Install a new wire harness clamp.

      Connect the 2 rubber bands of the separate type front seat cushion cover.

      Install the 2 seat cover fastener retainers.

  11. INSTALL VERTICAL ADJUSTER SPACER (w/ Vertical Adjuster)

      Using a T20 "TORX" socket wrench, install the vertical adjuster spacer with the 2 screws.

  12. INSTALL SEAT SIDE GARNISH BRACKET (w/ Vertical Adjuster)

      Using a T20 "TORX" socket wrench, install the seat side garnish bracket with the 2 screws.

  13. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD

        Engage the 2 claws, 2 guides and clip to install the front seat cushion shield.

        Using a T20 "TORX" socket wrench, install the 2 screws.

  14. INSTALL VERTICAL ADJUSTING HANDLE (w/ Vertical Adjuster)

      Engage the claw, guide and clip to install the front seat inner cushion shield.

  16. INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER RELEASE HANDLE

      Align the notches of the a new reclining adjuster release handle with the protrusions on the dial of the separate type front seatback spring assembly as shown in the illustration and engage the 5 claws to install the reclining adjuster release handle.

      Engage the 2 hooks to connect the 2 rubber bands of the separate type front seatback cover.
