FUEL SUPPLY PUMP(w/ Glow Plug Controller) REMOVAL

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note:

  • When replacing the injector assemblies (including exchanging the injector assemblies between the cylinders), common rail assembly, intake manifold or cylinder head sub-assembly, it is necessary to replace the injection pipe sub-assemblies with new ones.

  • When replacing the injector assemblies, supply pump assembly, common rail assembly, intake manifold or cylinder head sub-assembly, it is necessary to replace the fuel inlet pipe sub-assembly with a new one.

PROCEDURE

  1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER (w/ No. 1 Engine Cover)

  2. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY

  3. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  4. REMOVE NO. 1 GLOW PLUG CONNECTOR

  5. REMOVE NO. 1 VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY

  6. REMOVE NOZZLE LEAKAGE PIPE ASSEMBLY

  7. REMOVE NO. 1 INJECTION PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  8. REMOVE NO. 2 INJECTION PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  9. REMOVE NO. 3 INJECTION PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  10. REMOVE FUEL INLET PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  11. DISCONNECT NO. 2 FUEL HOSE

      Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 2 fuel hose from the No. 2 nozzle leakage pipe.

  12. DISCONNECT NO. 1 FUEL HOSE

      Disengage the clamp.

    2. Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 1 fuel hose from the No. 3 nozzle leakage pipe.

  13. REMOVE NO. 2 NOZZLE LEAKAGE PIPE

      Slide the clip and disconnect the fuel hose from the No. 4 nozzle leakage pipe.

      Disconnect the supply pump assembly connector.

    3. Disengage the clamp to disconnect the wire harness from the wiring harness clamp bracket.

      Remove the bolt and wiring harness clamp bracket from the fuel pump protector.

      Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 2 fuel hose from the No. 2 nozzle leakage pipe.

      Disconnect the fuel temperature sensor connector.

      Remove the 2 bolts and No. 2 nozzle leakage pipe from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly and supply pump assembly.

  14. REMOVE FUEL PUMP PROTECTOR

      Remove the 2 bolts and fuel pump protector from the supply pump assembly.

      Note:

      When the fuel pump protector fastening bolt has been loosened, tighten the supply pump assembly fastening bolt to the specified torque.

  15. REMOVE SUPPLY PUMP ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 3 bolts and supply pump assembly from the cylinder head sub-assembly.

    2. A349633

      Remove the supply pump drive coupling from the camshaft or supply pump assembly.

  16. REMOVE NO. 4 NOZZLE LEAKAGE PIPE

      Gasket

      Remove the union bolt, No. 4 nozzle leakage pipe and gasket from the supply pump assembly.

  17. REMOVE NO. 3 NOZZLE LEAKAGE PIPE

      Remove the union bolt, No. 3 nozzle leakage pipe and gasket from the supply pump assembly.
