PARKING LOCK RELEASE CABLE REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. AIR SUSPENSION CONTROL PROHIBITED (w/ Air Suspension)

  2. REMOVE TRANSMISSION FLOOR SHIFT ASSEMBLY

  3. REMOVE NO. 1 CENTER FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY

  4. REMOVE THROTTLE LINK CONNECTING ROD ASSEMBLY

      B006EC9 Nut and Spring Washer

      Remove the nut, spring washer and 2 bolts and disconnect the throttle link connecting rod assembly from the shift control actuator assembly.

      *1 Cover
      B006DHE Disconnect

      Detach the 2 claws and disconnect the cover from the throttle link connecting rod assembly as shown in the illustration.

      *1 Parking Lock Release Lever Assembly Cable End
      *2 Throttle Link Connecting Rod Assembly Cable End

      Disconnect the parking lock release lever assembly cable end from the throttle link connecting rod assembly cable end.

      Remove the 2 bolts and throttle link connecting rod assembly from the No. 2 parking release cable bracket sub-assembly.

  5. REMOVE TRANSMISSION LEVER OUTER

      Remove the nut, spring washer and transmission lever outer from the throttle link connecting rod assembly.

  6. REMOVE PARKING LOCK RELEASE LEVER ASSEMBLY

      Remove the nut and No. 1 parking lock release cable clamp bracket from the body.

      Remove the No. 1 parking lock release cable clamp bracket from the parking lock release lever assembly protector.

    3. B006GC3C01
      *A for LHD
      *B for RHD

      Remove the 4 bolts and pull out the parking lock release lever assembly from the floor panel through holes to remove it.

      Tech Tips


      • Do not damage the cable with the floor panel through holes.

      • Do not bend the cable.

  7. REMOVE NO. 2 PARKING RELEASE CABLE BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY

    Tech Tips

    Perform this procedure only when replacing the No. 2 parking release cable bracket sub-assembly.

      Remove the 2 nuts and No. 2 parking release cable bracket sub-assembly from the engine rear mounting member.
