OUTLINE
Interior
The interior design aims to offer a new SUV driving pleasure by combining a "sporty cockpit-like driver's area" with a "spacious and open atmosphere inherent of an SUV", which expresses a bold structure based on functionality and a refined feel of the interior space.
A clear and refined design realized by the structure that consists of shapes, quality materials and color schemes with making the best use of a functional layout.
A feeling of a framed area and a spacious, open atmosphere: The driver's area is cockpit-like framed, (*a in illustration) while the soft padded instrument panel is extended beyond the vehicle centerline to create a wide feel. (*b in illustration) This gives a sense of unity between the framed driver's area and the front/rear passengers' area with a spacious, open atmosphere.
Instrument Panel
Realization of a combination of the "strong, stable impression by a bold architecture through axes" (*a in illustration) and a "refined and soothing impression by soft padding". (*b in illustration)
Decoration panels and molding soft pads are used in each part of the instrument panel, thus achieving an improved quality.

An open tray is provided in the upper portion of the ornament for the front passenger seat to offer a lidless storage space which can be easily used. A soft mat is provided on the bottom surface of the tray.

Storage spaces, which were created with usability in mind, are provided in various places of the instrument panel, thus achieving improved convenience.
A tray is provided for storing small articles in the console box (*a in illustration). The left and right side knobs allow for opening the tray and the lid together (*B in illustration) or opening the lid alone (*A in illustration).
The cup holders in the front and the rear part of the console (*d and *e in illustration) are equipped with grips (*c in illustration) in order to securely hold the cups. The front side cup holder (*d in illustration) has an opening to accommodate for a mug cup with a handle.
A console tray (*f in illustration) easily accessible from the driver seat is provided. A mat made of a soft material is provided on the bottom of the console tray to help prevent items from slipping.

Depending on the grade, LED illumination is provided below the instrument panel garnish subassembly No. 2. This enables users to easily recognize the locations of the center switches and the cup holder in consideration of usability. Blue illumination is used throughout the interior, helping to express a high-quality interior space.

Attention has been given to the layout of the light source of the footwell light illumination to pleasantly illuminate the foot area from the center of the occupant seat. Not only is bright and entertaining illumination provided when the door has been opened, illumination also decreases while driving in order to decrease driver discomfort.

A stereo jack adapter is provided in the instrument panel finish panel lower No. 2.
2 accessory sockets are provided on the instrument panel finish panel lower No. 2. Also, 1 accessory socket is provided on the rear of the console box sub-assembly rear, in consideration of usability for rear seat passengers.

The height of the armrest has been adjusted so that passengers can rest their arms comfortably.
A forward-and-backward sliding mechanism is provided on the armrest. 2 slide positions, 35 mm (1.4 in.) and 70 mm (2.8 in.) forward from the initial position are provided in consideration of usability according to the physical sizes of the passengers.

Door Trim
Component layout that takes operability into consideration. (*a in illustration) Functional items such as switches, door handle, grip and storage placed at the front section. (*a in illustration) Soft padding used widely at the rear section that touches the passenger. (*b in illustration)

Thermoplastic PolyOlefin (TPO) upholstery is provided on the front door trim board subassembly, achieving an excellent feel.
Elastomer is used for the door grip, resulting in an excellent feel.

Center Cluster
A simple switch arrangement which is horizontally laid out is used for the audio.
Plating may be used on the opening area of the CD slot and the switch separator depending on the specification, thus producing a high-class feel.
Switches and a display are arranged close to each other for the automatic air conditioning, thus taking into account operability and visibility.
Plated rings are used for the dials of the air conditioning, thus taking improved quality into consideration.

Navigation System
The display is a wide 7.0-inch Wide Video Graphics Array (WVGA) with a pressure sensitive touch panel, offering improved ease of use.
The SD for the navigation receiver assembly can be supplied separately, enhancing serviceability.
An extension box, into which the navigation ECU is built, is used.
Telematics System
ERA-GLONASS is a subscription-based telematics service that uses Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) and cellular service (telephone function).
Stop and Start System
To achieve low emissions and enhanced fuel economy, the stop and start system has been developed.
Sliding Roof System
The sliding roof system uses a single glass panel to perform the tilt up-and-down and slide open-and-close operations.
Entry and Start System
The entry and start system is provided.

Heated Windshield Defroster System
The heated windshield defroster system use a heater element in the windshield glass to help reduce the formation of ice where the windshield.
Windshield Deicer System
The windshield deicer system uses a heater element in the windshield glass to help reduce the formation of ice where the front wipers rest.
Window Defogger System
The window defogger system uses a heater wire on the back door glass.
Wiper and Washer System
The front wiper system which uses a raindrop sensing function is used.
The low washer fluid warning function is used.
The washer nozzle heater function is used.
Air Conditioning System
The automatic air conditioning system or manual air conditioning system is provided.
Power Outlet Socket System
The power outlet socket system is designed for use as a power supply for electrical appliances in the vehicle.
DC 12 V power outlet socket assemblies are located in the lower portion of the instrument panel and the rear of the console box sub-assembly rear.
Combination Meter Assembly
Depending on the grade, a segment Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) type combination meter or color Thin Film Transistor (TFT) type combination meter is made available.
Ornamentation is placed on various parts of the combination meter to express a sense of high quality.

Supplemental Restraint System
The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) driver and front passenger airbags are used as supplements to the seat belts to help reduce the shocks to the head and chest of the driver or front passenger in the event of a frontal collision.
The SRS knee airbags are used as a supplement to the seat belt to help reduce the shock to the knee of the driver in the event of a frontal collision.
The SRS front seat side airbags are used during a side collision to help reduce the impact to the chests of the driver and front passenger.
The SRS curtain shield airbags are used in the event of a side or side rear collision to help reduce the impact to the heads of the front passenger or rear passengers.
The SRS seat cushion airbags (front seat cushion airbag assembly RH) are used as a supplement to the seat belts to prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding forward in the event of a front impact collision.
