DESCRIPTION

The headlight leveling ECU assembly actuates the headlight leveling motors according to vehicle conditions.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY - HEADLIGHT LEVELING ECU ASSEMBLY)

   
   

   1. Disconnect the A16 headlight leveling ECU assembly connector.

   2. Disconnect the A62*1 or A40*2 headlight leveling motor connector.

      
      

      • *1: for LH

      • *2: for RH

   3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)
      for LH Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition A16-18 (LH2) - A62-2 (LHB1) Always Below 1 Ω A16-11 (LH1) - A62-3 (LHM+) Always Below 1 Ω A16-24 (LH3) - A62-1 (LHE) Always Below 1 Ω
      for RH Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition A16-17 (RH2) - A40-2 (RHB1) Always Below 1 Ω A16-10 (RH1) - A40-3 (RHM+) Always Below 1 Ω A16-23 (RH3) - A40-1 (RHE) Always Below 1 Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)
      for LH Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition A16-18 (LH2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher A16-11 (LH1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher A16-24 (LH3) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      for RH Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition A16-17 (RH2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher A16-10 (RH1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher A16-23 (RH3) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

   REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

   OK

2. CHECK HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY

   
   

   1. Replace the headlight assembly with a new or a known good one Click here.

   2. Check the operation of the headlight leveling motors.

      OK
      Headlight leveling motors operate normally.
