FRONT DOOR DISASSEMBLY

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Tip:

  • Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.

  • The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.

  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

PROCEDURE

  1. PRECAUTION

    Note:

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    w/ Side Airbag:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    Note:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOWER FRAME BRACKET GARNISH LH

      Detach the 2 claws and 2 clips and remove the front door lower frame bracket garnish LH.

  4. REMOVE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH FRONT DOOR ARMREST BASE PANEL (for Driver Side)

      Using a moulding remover, detach the 2 clips, 6 claws and 2 guides and remove the power window regulator master switch assembly with front door armrest base panel.

    2. Disconnect the connector.

  5. REMOVE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY (for Driver Side)

  6. REMOVE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH FRONT DOOR ARMREST BASE PANEL (for Front Passenger Side)

      Using a moulding remover, detach the 2 clips, 6 claws and 2 guides and remove the power window regulator master switch assembly with front door armrest base panel.

  7. REMOVE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY (for Front Passenger Side)

  8. REMOVE FRONT DOOR ASSIST GRIP COVER LH

      Using a moulding remover, detach the 4 claws, 2 clips and guide and remove the front door assist grip cover LH.

  9. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL PLUG LH

      Detach the 3 claws and remove the front door inside handle bezel plug LH.

  10. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

      Remove the 3 screws.

    2. B337331

      Detach the 9 clips and remove the front door trim board sub-assembly.

    3. B337332

      Disengage the front door lock remote control cable assembly LH and front door inside locking cable assembly LH from the 2 clamps.

    4. Disconnect the front door lock remote control cable assembly LH and front door inside locking cable assembly LH.

  11. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

      Detach the 2 claws and guide and remove the front door inside handle sub-assembly LH.

  12. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INNER GLASS WEATHERSTRIP LH

      Raise the 7 claws of the front door inner glass weatherstrip LH as shown in the illustration, and then remove the front door inner glass weatherstrip LH from the front door trim board sub-assembly LH.

  13. REMOVE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH

  14. REMOVE DOOR SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR LH (w/ Side Airbag)

  15. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (w /Speaker)

  16. REMOVE FRONT SPEAKER COVER (w/o Speaker)

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Put a 4 mm (0.157 in.) drill bit into a drill.

    3. Wind tape around the drill bit approximately 5 mm (0.197 in.) from the tip of the drill as shown in the illustration.

      Note:

      Tape the 4 mm (0.157 in.) drill bit to prevent the drill bit from going too deep.

    4. Lightly press the drill against the 3 rivets, drill off the flanges of the 3 rivets and remove the front speaker cover.

      CAUTION:

      Be careful of the drilled rivet as it may become hot.

      Note:

      • Pressing the drill too firmly will cause the rivet to turn and result in the rivet not being drilled through.

      • Do not pry the rivet with the drill because this may cause damage to the installation holes of the rivet or the drill bit.

    5. Using a vacuum cleaner, remove the rivet fragments and shavings from the drilled area.

  17. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER LH

      w/ Side Airbag Sensor

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. w/ Side Airbag Sensor:

      Remove the bolt as shown in the illustration.

    3. Using a clip remover, detach the 3 clamps.

    4. Pull out the front door lock remote control cable assembly LH, front door inside locking cable assembly LH and wire harness from the front door service hole cover LH, and then remove the front door service hole cover LH.

      Tip:

      Remove any remaining butyl tape from the front door panel.

  18. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

    1. Temporarily install the power window regulator master switch assembly with front door armrest base panel.

    2. Connect the power window regulator motor.

    3. Connect the negative (-) battery terminal.

    4. Move the front door window regulator so that the front door glass bolts can be seen.

    5. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      Note:

      When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    6. Remove the power window regulator master switch assembly with front door armrest base panel.

      Remove the 2 bolts.

      Note:

      After the bolts are removed, do not allow the front door glass to fall.

      Remove the front door glass sub-assembly LH as indicated by the arrows in the order shown in the illustration.

      Note:

      Do not damage the front door glass.

  19. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS RUN LH

      Remove the front door glass run LH.

      Temporary Bolt

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Loosen the temporary bolt.

      Note:

      Do not remove the temporary bolt. If the temporary bolt is removed, the front door window regulator sub-assembly LH may fall and become damaged.

    3. Remove the 5 bolts and front door window regulator sub-assembly LH.

    4. Remove the temporary bolt from the front door window regulator sub-assembly LH.

  21. REMOVE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY LH

      Remove the bolt.

      Detach the guide and remove the front door rear lower frame sub-assembly LH.

  23. REMOVE FRONT DOOR NO. 2 STIFFENER CUSHION

      Double-sided Tape

      Remove the 2 bolts.

    2. Detach the 2 guides, and remove the double-sided tape and front door No. 2 stiffener cushion.

      Note:

      Remove any remaining tape from the door.

  24. REMOVE FRONT DOOR BELT MOULDING ASSEMBLY LH

  25. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE COVER LH

      Remove the hole plug.

    2. Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, loosen the screw and remove the front door outside handle cover LH together with the door lock cylinder LH.

  26. REMOVE DOOR LOCK CYLINDER LH

      Detach the 2 claws and remove the door lock cylinder LH from the front door outside handle cover LH.

        Protective Tape

        Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws of the connector cover in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration and disconnect the connector cover.

        Tip:

        Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

        Using a screwdriver, detach the claw of the connector in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration and disconnect the connector.

        Tip:

        Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

      Remove the front door outside handle assembly LH by sliding and pulling it in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration.

  31. REMOVE FRONT DOOR FRONT OUTSIDE HANDLE PAD

      Detach the 3 claws and remove the front door front outside handle pad.

      Detach the 2 claws and remove the front door rear outside handle pad.

      Detach the 3 clamps.

      Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, loosen the screw and remove the front door outside handle frame sub-assembly LH.

    3. Slide the front door outside handle frame sub-assembly LH to detach the claw of the front door outside handle frame sub-assembly LH, and then remove it.

  34. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK OPEN ROD LH

      Snap

      Rotate the snap to detach the snap, and then remove the front door lock open rod LH as indicated by the arrows in the order shown in the illustration.

  35. REMOVE FRONT DOOR CHECK ASSEMBLY LH

      Remove the 3 bolts and front door check assembly LH.

  36. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WEATHERSTRIP LH

      Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips.

    2. Using a clip remover, detach the 18 clips and remove the front door weatherstrip LH.

  37. REMOVE DOOR FRAME GARNISH LH

      Detach the claw and remove the door frame garnish LH.

      Detach the 2 claws and remove the 2 front door panel cushions.
