POP UP HOOD LIFTER(for Rear Side) ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

CAUTION:

Be sure to correctly follow the removal and installation procedures for the pop up hood lifter assemblies.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT NO. 2 POP UP HOOD LIFTER ASSEMBLY LH (for Vehicle not Involved in Collision)


    1. Perform a diagnostic system check.

    2. Visually check for defects with the No. 2 pop up hood lifter assembly installed on the vehicle.

      Tech Tips

      The defects are as follows:


      • Cracks on the cylinder

      • Dents on the cylinder

      • Chips on the cylinder

      • Cracks or other damage to the connector

      OK
      No defects are found.

      If any defects are found, replace the No. 2 pop up hood lifter assembly with a new one.

  2. INSPECT NO. 2 POP UP HOOD LIFTER ASSEMBLY LH (for Vehicle Involved in Collision and Pop Up Hood Lifter not Deployed)


    1. Perform a diagnostic system check.

    2. Visually check for defects with the No. 2 pop up hood lifter assembly removed from the vehicle.

      Tech Tips

      The defects are as follows:


      • Cracks on the cylinder

      • Dents on the cylinder

      • Chips on the cylinder

      • Cracks or other damage to the connector

      • Deformation or cracks on the No. 2 pop up hood lifter assembly bracket

      OK
      No defects are found.

      If any defects are found, replace the No. 2 pop up hood lifter assembly with a new one.
