FRONT CRANKSHAFT OIL SEAL REMOVAL

PROCEDURE

  1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL RH

  2. SEPARATE FRONT FENDER LINER RH

    1. Remove the 3 bolts, 2 screws and 2 clips, and separate the front fender liner RH.

  3. REMOVE FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT

  4. REMOVE WATER PUMP DRIVE BELT

  5. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY

      Turn the crankshaft clockwise and install SST as shown in the illustration.

    2. Using SST, hold the flywheel sub-assembly.

      Remove the 3 bolts and crankshaft pulley.

  6. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY HUB OIL SEAL

    1. A338056

      Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, pry out the crankshaft pulley hub oil seal. Using a screwdriver, pry out the timing chain cover oil seal.

      Note:

      After removal, check the crankshaft for damage. If damaged, smooth the surface with 400-grit sandpaper.
