LIGHTING SYSTEM Door Courtesy Switch Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU (network gateway ECU) detects the condition of the front door courtesy light switch assembly using this circuit.

PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING GTS


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.

    5. Read the display on the GTS.

      OK
      Normal conditions listed above are displayed.

    1. Remove the front door courtesy light switch assembly Click here.

    2. Inspect the front door courtesy light switch assembly Click here.

      Front door courtesy light switch assembly is normal.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY LH - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the 3B (for RHD) or 3A (for LHD) instrument panel junction block assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the H21 front door courtesy light switch assembly LH connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      for RHD
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H21-1 - 3B-13 Always Below 1 Ω
      H21-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      for LHD
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H21-1 - 3A-28 Always Below 1 Ω
      H21-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  4. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the instrument panel junction block assembly Click here.

    2. Remove the main body ECU (network gateway ECU) from the instrument panel junction block assembly.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. (for RHD)

    1. Disconnect the 3A (for RHD) or 3B (for LHD) instrument panel junction block assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the G18 front door courtesy light switch assembly RH connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      for RHD
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G18-1 - 3A-28 Always Below 1 Ω
      G18-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      for LHD

  6. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the instrument panel junction block assembly Click here.

    2. Remove the main body ECU (network gateway ECU) from the instrument panel junction block assembly.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. (for RHD)
