MANUAL TRANSAXLE OIL REPLACEMENT
PROCEDURE
REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

Remove the 8 clips and fold back the No. 1 engine under cover.
Tip:It is not necessary to fully remove the No. 1 engine under cover. Partially remove it so that the oil can be replaced in a later step.

DRAIN MANUAL TRANSAXLE OIL

Manual Transmission Filler Plug

Manual Transmission Drain Plug
Remove the manual transmission filler plug and gasket.
Remove the drain plug and gasket to drain the manual transmission oil.
Install a new gasket and the manual transmission drain plug.

ADD MANUAL TRANSAXLE OIL

0 to 5 mm (0 to 0.197 in.)
Add oil until the oil level is within 0 to 5 mm (0 to 0.197 in.) from the bottom of the manual transmission filler plug opening.
Manual Transaxle Oil
"TOYOTA Genuine Manual Transmission Gear Oil LV" or "API GL-4 and SAE 75W"
Standard Capacity
2.3 liters (2.4 US qts, 2.0 Imp. qts)
Install a new gasket and the manual transmission filler plug.

Note:When adding transaxle oil, make sure the vehicle is level.
An excessively large or small amount of oil may cause problems.
After adding oil, drive the vehicle and recheck the oil level.

INSPECT FOR OIL LEAK
INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

Install the No.1 engine under cover with the 8 clips.
