DYNAMIC RADAR CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM, Diagnostic DTC:U0235, U1104

DTC Code DTC Name
U0235 Lost Communication with Cruise Control Front Distance Range Sensor
U1104 Lost Communication with Driving Support ECU

DESCRIPTION

The millimeter wave radar sensor assembly and driving support ECU assembly transmit the data for general vehicle control and diagnosis function via CAN communication line. The millimeter wave radar sensor assembly transmits information about the vehicle in front to the driving support ECU assembly.

DTC No. DTC Detection Condition Trouble Area
U0235 When the power switch is on (IG), a communication error between the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly and the driving support ECU assembly is detected for 1 second or more while the vehicle is being driven at a speed of 36 km/h (22 mph) or more.
  • Millimeter wave radar sensor assembly

  • Driving support ECU assembly

  • CAN communication system

U1104 When the power switch is on (IG), a communication error between the driving support ECU assembly and the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly is detected for 1 second or more while the vehicle is being driven at a speed of 36 km/h (22 mph) or more.
  • Millimeter wave radar sensor assembly

  • Driving support ECU assembly

  • CAN communication system

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note

  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

  • When the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly is replaced with a new one, adjustment of the radar sensor beam axis must be performed Click here.

  • When replacing the driving support ECU assembly, always replace it with a new one. If a driving support ECU assembly which was installed to another vehicle is used, the information stored in the driving support ECU assembly will not match the information from the vehicle. As a result, a DTC may be stored.

PROCEDURE

  5. CHECK FOR DTCs (DTC U0235 OR U1104)

    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    5. Perform the following to make sure that the DTC detection conditions are met.

      Tech Tips

If the detection conditions are not met, the malfunction cannot be detected.

      1. Drive the vehicle at a speed of between approximately 50 km/h (30 mph) and 170 km/h (105 mph).

      2. Turn the cruise control system on using the cruise control switch (ON-OFF button).

      3. Push the cruise control switch to -/SET to begin control of vehicle speed using the cruise control system.

    6. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Radar Cruise / Trouble Codes.

    7. Check for DTCs.
