OIL PUMP REMOVAL

PROCEDURE

  1. REMOVE OIL PAN SUB-ASSEMBLY

  2. REMOVE OIL STRAINER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  3. REMOVE ENGINE WATER PUMP ASSEMBLY

  4. REMOVE OIL FILTER BRACKET

  5. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY

  6. REMOVE TIMING GEAR COVER TIGHT PLUG

  7. REMOVE CYLINDER BLOCK DRAIN COCK PLUG

  8. REMOVE TIMING CHAIN COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. A429298

      Remove the 12 bolts from the timing chain cover sub-assembly.

      Protective Tape

      Remove the timing chain cover sub-assembly by prying between the timing chain cover sub-assembly and cylinder head sub-assembly or cylinder block sub-assembly with a screwdriver as shown in the illustration.

      Note:

      Be careful not to damage the contact surfaces of the cylinder head sub-assembly, cylinder block sub-assembly and timing chain cover sub-assembly.

      Tip:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

      Remove the oil pump gasket from the cylinder block sub-assembly.

  9. REMOVE VENTILATION CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  10. REMOVE STUD BOLT

  11. REMOVE TIMING CHAIN COVER OIL SEAL
