OUTLINE
The entry and start system has the following main functions, making it a very user-friendly system.
| Function | Outline | |
|---|---|---|
| Start Function | The start function is operated by simply pushing the power switch while carrying the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly. When the power switch is pushed, the certification ECU (Smart Key ECU Assembly) turns the ACC relay, IG1 relays and IG2 relay on or off to switch the power source pattern.*1

| Engine Immobiliser | The engine immobiliser function compares the ID code that is registered in the ID code box (immobiliser code ECU) with the ID code of the transponder chip that is embedded in the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly. | |
| Shift Lock | The shift lock function is operated to lock and unlock the shift control by using a shift lock control actuator assembly in the hybrid vehicle transaxle assembly. | |
| Entry Function*2 | The entry functions described below can be enabled while carrying the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly. Entry Unlock: All the doors and the back door unlock in the following situations:

*1: In this chapter, the expression "power source" has been used in some locations to allow precise explanations. The power source condition is also expressed using conventional expressions such as "power switch off", "power switch on (ACC)" and "power switch on (IG)".
*2: Models with the entry function for the driver door, front passenger door and back door, and models with the entry function for the driver door only.
MAJOR DIFFERENCE
The new models have been modified from the previous models as shown below:
The computer managing a power supply is changed to certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) from power management control ECU.
Power management control ECU has been changed to hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly.
The combination meter assembly has been changed.
