TIRE PRESSURE WARNING SYSTEM PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

If there are no DTCs output and the problem still occurs, check the suspected areas for each problem symptom in the order given in the following table and proceed to the relevant troubleshooting page.

Note:

  • When replacing the Skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly), sensors, etc., turn the ignition switch off.

  • When replacing the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly), perform VSC system variant learning, acceleration sensor zero point calibration and tire pressure warning system initialization.

Tip:

  • The tire pressure warning ECU is integrated with the Skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly).

  • When the tire pressure warning light blinks and the ABS warning light or slip indicator light illuminates, check the VSC system first.

  • Use the table below to help determine the cause of problem symptoms. If multiple suspected areas are listed, the potential causes of the symptoms are listed in order of probability in the "Suspected Area" column of the table. Check each symptom by checking the suspected areas in the order they are listed. Replace parts as necessary.

  • Inspect the fuses and relays related to this system before inspecting the suspected areas below.

  • The tire may be of in appropriate size or of a different manufacturer.

Tire pressure warning light does not illuminate despite tire pressure decreasing.

Check if vehicle wears appropriate size tire.

Tip:

  • The tire may be of in appropriate size or of a different manufacturer.

  • The tire pressure may be affected by the driving environment since tire pressure decreases in cold weather.

  • The tire pressure may not have been at the correct pressure during initialization.

Check again to see if DTCs are output for the VSC system. (If DTCs are output, perform diagnosis based on the DTCs that are output.)
