CYLINDER HEAD DISASSEMBLY

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE INTAKE VALVE

    Tech Tips

    Arrange the valves, inner compression springs, valve spring retainers and valve spring retainer locks in the correct order.


    1. Place the cylinder head on a wooden block.

      Using SST, compress the inner compression spring and remove the valve spring retainer lock.

    3. Remove the valve spring retainer, inner compression spring, valve spring seat plate washer and intake valve.

  2. REMOVE EXHAUST VALVE

    Tech Tips

    Arrange the valves, inner compression springs, valve spring retainers and valve spring retainer locks in the correct order.


    1. Place the cylinder head on a wooden block.

      Using SST, compress the inner compression spring and remove the valve spring retainer lock.

    3. Remove the valve spring retainer, inner compression spring, valve spring seat plate washer and exhaust valve.

  3. REMOVE VALVE STEM OIL SEAL

      Using needle-nose pliers, remove the valve stem oil seal.

  4. REMOVE VALVE SPRING SEAT PLATE WASHER


    1. A004RP8

      Using compressed air and a magnet hand, remove the valve spring seat plate washer by blowing air.
