THROTTLE BODY REMOVAL

The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed, installed, or replaced during the throttle body with motor assembly removal/installation are shown below.

Note

After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

PROCEDURE


  1. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT

  2. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Click here

  4. REMOVE BATTERY

    Click here

  5. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE

      Slide the clip and disconnect the ventilation hose from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly.

    2. Disengage the clamp to disconnect the ventilation hose from the engine wire.

    3. B0085RZ

      Disconnect the mass air flow meter sub-assembly connector.

    4. Disengage the 2 wire harness clamps.

      Disengage the clamp to separate the union to check valve hose from the air cleaner hose assembly.

    6. B0088KB

      Disengage the 2 clamps to separate the No. 2 fuel vapor feed hose assembly from the air cleaner hose assembly.

      Disengage the clamp to separate the heater hose from the air cleaner hose assembly.

      Disengage the clamp to separate the No. 1 fuel hose sub-assembly from the fuel hose bracket.

      Disengage the 2 air cleaner cap clamps.

    10. Disengage the 2 guides to separate the air cleaner cap with air cleaner hose from the air cleaner case sub-assembly.

      Loosen the hose clamp and remove the air cleaner cap with air cleaner hose from the throttle body with motor assembly.

  6. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY

      *1 No. 2 Water By-pass Hose
      *2 No. 3 Water By-pass Hose

      Slide the 2 clips and disconnect the No. 2 water by-pass hose and No. 3 water by-pass hose from the throttle body with motor assembly.

    2. Disconnect the throttle body with motor assembly connector.

      Remove the 4 bolts and throttle body with motor assembly from the intake manifold.

      Note

      If the throttle body with motor assembly has been struck or dropped, replace it.

  7. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY GASKET

      Remove the throttle body gasket from the intake manifold.
