LIGHTING SYSTEM DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST

  1. DATA LIST

    Tech Tips

Using the GTS to read the Data List allows the values or states of switches, sensors, actuators and other items to be read without removing any parts. This non-intrusive inspection can be very useful because intermittent conditions or signals may be discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Reading the Data List information early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time.

    Note

In the following table, the values listed under "Normal Condition" are reference values. Do not depend solely on these reference values when deciding whether a part is faulty or not.

    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.

    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the GTS.

  2. ACTIVE TEST

    Tech Tips

Using the GTS to perform Active Tests allows relays, VSVs, actuators and other items to be operated without removing any parts. This non-intrusive functional inspection can be very useful because intermittent operation may be discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Performing Active Tests early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time. Data List information can be displayed while performing Active Tests.

    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / (desired system) / Active Test.

    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.

Fr Foot Light Footwell lights ON/OFF

Precondition for using the Active Test to turn lights on and off:

      • Power switch is turned off just before performing the Active Test.

Preconditions for using the Active Test to check dimmer controlled illumination:

      • Power switch is on (READY).

      • A shift state other than park (P) has been selected.

When performing this Active Test, make sure the following condition is met:

The power switch illumination is off (15 seconds or more have elapsed since it turned from on to off) and the power switch is on (ACC) or on (IG), or the hybrid control system is running.
