WINDSHIELD DEICER SWITCH INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT FRONT WINDOW DEICER SWITCH


    1. B0085ESC01
      *a

      Component without harness connected

      (Front Window Deicer Switch)

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      5 - 2 Front window deicer switch pressed Below 1 Ω
      5 - 2 Front window deicer switch not pressed 10 kΩ or higher

      If the result is not as specified, replace the front window deicer switch.

    2. B0085ESC02
      *a Indicator Light
      *b Illumination
      *c

      Component without harness connected

      (Front Window Deicer Switch)

      Check that the indicator light illuminates.

      OK
      Battery Connection Specified Condition

      Battery positive (+) → 5

      Battery negative (-) → 4

      		 Front window deicer switch indicator illuminates

      If the result is not as specified, replace the front window deicer switch.

    3. Check that the illumination illuminates.

      OK
      Battery Connection Specified Condition

      Battery positive (+) → 6

      Battery negative (-) → 1

      		 Front window deicer switch illumination illuminates

      If the result is not as specified, replace the front window deicer switch.
