CONSTRUCTION
A die-cast aluminum chain cover that consists of the timing chain cover assembly and No. 2 timing gear cover assembly is used. This improves the sealing characteristics between the timing chain cover assembly, the cylinder head sub-assembly and cylinder block sub-assembly.
A structure which allows installation of the cam timing control motor with EDU assembly, which controls the VVT-iE, is used for the No. 2 timing gear cover assembly.
The No. 2 timing gear cover assembly has a structure which allows the installation of a cam timing oil control solenoid assembly for VVT-i control.
A service hole in the No. 2 timing gear cover assembly is provided for the No. 1 chain tensioner assembly which allows the VVT to be removed without removing the engine.
