IGNITION COIL AND SPARK PLUG REMOVAL

The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization, or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed, installed, or replaced during the No. 1 ignition coil or spark plug removal/installation are shown below.

Replacement of spark plug

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE NO. 1 IGNITION COIL

      *a Sensor Wire Connector
      *b Fuel Pump Assembly Connector
      *c No. 1 Ignition Coil Connector
      *d Camshaft Position Sensor Connector

      Disconnect the sensor wire connector.

    2. Disconnect the fuel pump assembly connector.

    3. Disconnect the No. 1 ignition coil connector.

    4. Disconnect the camshaft position sensor connector.

    5. Disengage the 2 clamps.

    6. Remove the nut and separate the engine wire from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly.

      Disconnect the 3 No. 1 ignition coil connectors.

      Remove the 4 bolts and 4 No. 1 ignition coils from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly.

      Note

      If a No. 1 ignition coil has been struck or dropped, replace it.

      Arrange the removed parts in the correct order.
