INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note

  • Before replacing the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly), refer to Registration Click here.

  • The engine immobiliser system uses the CAN communication system. Inspect the communication function by following How to Proceed with Troubleshooting Click here. Troubleshoot the engine immobiliser system after confirming that the communication systems are functioning properly.

PROCEDURE

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT)

    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the Techstream on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Smart Key / Active Test.

    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT (AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY) - CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY))

    1. Disconnect the I56 security indicator light (air conditioning control assembly) connector.

    2. Disconnect the I86 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I86-8 (IND)- I56-1 (LP) Always Below 1 Ω
I86-8 (IND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
