  1. CHECK VEHICLE APPROACHING SPEAKER CONTROLLER

    A011Y6ME04
    1. Disconnect the I71 vehicle approaching speaker controller connector.

    2. Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Terminal No. Wiring Color Terminal Description Condition Specified Condition
I71-1 (IG) - Body ground B - Body ground IG power supply Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
Power switch off Below 1 V
      I71-7 (GND) - Body ground W-B - Body ground Ground Always Below 1 Ω

If the result is not as specified, there may be a malfunction in the wire harness.

    3. Reconnect the I71 vehicle approaching speaker controller connectors.

    4. Measure the voltage and check for pulses according to the value(s) in the table below.

Terminal No. (Symbol) Wiring Color Terminal Description Condition Specified Condition
      I71-2 (STP) - I71-7 (GND) L - W-B Stop light signal input Brake pedal depressed 8 V or higher
Brake pedal released Below 1 V
I71-3 (SP+) - I71-8 (SP-) LG - P Vehicle approaching speaker output Vehicle approaching speaker operating A waveform synchronized with the sound is output.
      I71-6 (SPD) - I71-7 (GND) V - W-B Speed signal input Wheel being rotated

      (See Waveform 1)

      I71-11 (SFTP) - I71-7 (GND) R - W-B P position signal input Power switch on (IG), park (P) selected Below 2 V
Power switch on (IG), park (P) not selected 8 V or higher
I71-12 (OPSW) - I71-7 (GND) B - W-B Engine oil pressure switch signal input Power switch on (READY), engine not operating Below 2 V
Power switch on (READY), engine operating 8 V or higher

If the result is not as specified, there is a problem in the vehicle approaching speaker controller or wire harness.
