LIGHTING SYSTEM

  1. FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENTS

    Component Function
Headlight ECU Sub-assembly RH Relays front turn signal light flashing/turning off signals.
    Headlight ECU Sub-assembly LH
Front Multiplex Network Door ECU RH Relays side turn signal light flashing/turning off signals.
Front Multiplex Network Door ECU LH
    Combination Meter Assembly
    • Receives hazard blink request signals from the airbag ECU and blinks the front turn signal lights, side turn signal lights and rear turn signal lights.

    • Receives signals from switches and ECUs and turns off the front turn signal lights, side turn signal lights and rear turn signal lights.

Airbag ECU Assembly Sends hazard blink request signals to the combination meter assembly.
Hazard Warning Signal Switch Assembly Sends the light switch position signal to the combination meter assembly.
Central Gateway ECU (Network Gateway ECU) Relays the signals between the CAN communication lines.
  2. SYSTEM CONTROL

    1. The collision-linked control automatically flashes the turn signal lights when the SRS airbags are deployed or a strong impact is received from the rear.

      Tech Tips

The turn signal lights may not flash depending on the type of collision or as a result of a communication malfunction.

    2. After the turn signal lights flash, if approximately 20 minutes elapse or the hazard warning signal switch assembly is operated twice, control stops and the turn signal lights turn off.

  3. FUNCTION

    1. When a collision occurs where the SRS airbags are deployed, the turn signal lights are flashed to inform people near the vehicle of its location.
