  2. SYSTEM CONTROL

    1. Headlight On Reminder Control

      1. Headlight on reminder control interrupts the multi-information display by displaying the "Turn On Headlamps" message for approximately 6 seconds if the following conditions are met for approximately 10 seconds when the vehicle is driven at night.

        • The power switch is on (IG).

        • The light control switch is in the TAIL position.

        • The vehicle speed is more than approximately 5 km/h (3 mph).

        • The automatic light control sensor outputs the night mode signal.

      2. After the message is displayed, the message is cleared if any of the following conditions are met before approximately 6 seconds have elapsed.

        • The power switch is off.

        • The light control switch is in the HEAD or AUTO position.

        • The automatic light control sensor outputs the daytime mode signal.

        • "BACK" is selected with the steering pad switch assembly.

    2. Headlight Off Reminder Control (Light Control Switch in HEAD Position)

      1. Headlight off reminder control displays the "Headlamps Are On" message on the multi-information display when 5 minutes or more elapse after the following conditions are met.

        • The power switch is off.

        • The low beam headlights are on (light control switch is in the HEAD position).

        • The driver door remains closed (is not opened) after the power switch is turned off.

      2. After the message is displayed, the message is cleared if any of the following conditions are met before 6 seconds have elapsed.

        • The power switch is on (IG).

        • The low beam headlights are off (light control switch not in the HEAD position).

        • "BACK" is selected with the steering pad switch assembly.

        • The headlights are turned off by the light auto-turn off system.

    3. Headlight Off Reminder Control (Light Control Switch in AUTO Position)

      1. Headlight off reminder control interrupts the multi-information display by displaying the "Headlamps Are On Turn Headlamps Off?" message for 6 seconds if the following conditions are continuously met for 5 minutes or more.

        • The power switch is off.

        • The low beam headlights are on (light control switch is in the AUTO position).

        • The driver door remains closed (is not opened) after the power switch is turned off.

      2. "Yes" or "No" is displayed on the multi-information display after the message is displayed. If "Yes" is selected with steering pad switch operation, the headlights are turned off. If "No" is selected, the headlights remain on and the displayed message is cleared.

      3. After the message is displayed, the message is cleared if any of the following conditions are met before 6 seconds have elapsed.

        • The power switch is on (IG).

        • The low beam headlights are off (light control switch in the TAIL position).

        • The automatic light control sensor outputs the daytime mode signal.

        • "No" or "BACK" is selected with the steering pad switch.

        • The headlights are turned off by the light auto-turn off system.

  3. FUNCTION

    1. A reminder service function is provided to remind the user to turn the headlights on when driving at night and to turn the headlights off after turning the power switch off by displaying a warning message on the multi-information display.

    2. The headlight on/off reminder control settings can be changed on the setting screen of the multi-information display or using the Global TechStream (GTS). For details, refer to the Repair Manual.
