OPERATING CONDITION
Front cross traffic alert operates when all of the following conditions are met.
|
SYSTEM CONTROL
The front cross traffic alert detects the approach of crossing vehicles when the vehicle enters an intersection at a low speed, based on detection information from the front side radar sensor. The driver is alerted of this information at two levels: as a "warning alert" and as "depression stopping support".
The "warning alert" shows a warning on the headup display and multi display* to alert the driver that a crossing vehicle is approaching.
Tech Tips
*: Only when the panoramic view monitor screen is displayed.
"Depression stopping support" displays a warning on the multi-information display and sounds a buzzer to alert the driver and urge the driver to decelerate, when the driver attempts to drive the vehicle forward regardless of whether a crossing vehicle is approaching.
The "warning alert" displays an animation on the large headup display to show from which direction crossing vehicles are approaching, providing intuitive and easily understood information to the driver.
