SYSTEM CONTROL
The intuitive pedestrian detection alert detects pedestrians in front of the vehicle. If the driving support ECU assembly determines that there is high possibility of colliding with the pedestrian unless the driver operates the vehicle to avoid the pedestrian first, a warning is shown on the headup display to alert the driver.
The intuitive pedestrian detection alert displays an animation showing the position of the pedestrian on the large headup display, providing intuitive and easily understood information to the driver.
An object recognition camera equipped with 2 cameras is used to detect pedestrians. The system operates in combination with solid object detection and pedestrian identification provided through pattern recognition, resulting in highly accurate recognition of pedestrians.
Figure 1. Intuitive Pedestrian Detection Alert Operation Image
The intuitive pedestrian detection alert detects all pedestrians in front of the vehicle, whether they are stopped, moving along with the vehicle, moving toward the vehicle or crossing in front of the vehicle.
Tech Tips
The operation range may vary depending on the warning sensitivity level that is set.
In the following situations, the system determines that it has detected something and the intuitive pedestrian detection alert may operate.
