  1. FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENTS

    Component Function
    Television Display Assembly
    • Plays videos input from the multi-display controller sub-assembly.

    • Receives rear multi operation panel operation signals, and then operates and displays the screen according to the signal.

    • Adjusts the tilt angle of the television display according to rear multi operation panel operation signals (display adjustment operation).

    • Inputs seat position information from each position control ECU assembly and automatically adjusts the angle of the television display assembly.

    Multi-display Controller Sub-assembly
    • Inputs video signals, such as DVD video screens and each type of audio operation information, from the radio receiver assembly and outputs them to the television display assembly.

    • Outputs videos from an external video device connected to the HDMI terminal to the television display assembly.

    • Sends information related to mode changes according to audio source switching and disc inserting/ejecting to the rear multi operation panel.

    • Outputs audio sounds for the television display assembly display source to the headphones connected to the headphone terminal.

    Rear Multi Operation Panel (Rear Power Seat Switch) Outputs rear multi operation panel operation signals to the radio receiver assembly and multi-display controller sub-assembly.
    Multi-display Displays video information output from the radio receiver assembly.
    Radio Receiver Assembly
    • Adjusts the audio volume and switches the audio sources according to operation signals input from the multi-display controller sub-assembly, and then outputs video signals to the multi-display controller sub-assembly.

    • Outputs video signals to the multi-display.

    Navigation ECU*1 Outputs digital TV signals to the radio receiver assembly.

    Windshield Glass Print Antenna


    • DTV*1

    Receives digital terrestrial television broadcasting electrical waves using a printed antenna on the windshield glass.

    Back Window Glass Print Antenna

    No. 1 Amplifier Antenna Assembly Amplifies radio broadcasting electrical waves received by the radio antenna and outputs signals to the radio receiver assembly.
    No. 2 Amplifier Antenna Assembly
    Digital Audio Broadcasting Antenna Assembly*2 Amplifies DAB signals from the radio antenna and sends them to the radio receiver assembly.
    Disc Player Assembly
    • Outputs signals related to videos on DVD and Blu-ray discs and videos and pictures on SD cards to the television display assembly through the multi-display controller sub-assembly.

    • Comes equipped with the Wi-Fi function to communicate with smartphones and tablets via Wi-Fi.

    HDMI Terminal Outputs audio and video signals to the multi-display controller sub-assembly when an HDMI-compatible external device is connected.

    Headphone Terminal (LH)


    • Headphone Jack

    • Volume Adjustment Dial


    • Enables the user to listen to sounds from audio sources, which are displayed on the television display assembly (LH), by connecting headphones.

    • Adjusts the audio volume of the connected headphones according to volume adjustment dial operations.

    Position Control ECU Assembly Outputs seat position signals related to the position and reclining angle of the driver seat to the multi-display controller sub-assembly.
    No. 2 Position Control ECU Assembly Outputs seat position signals related to the position and reclining angle of the passenger seat to the multi-display controller sub-assembly.
    Position Control ECU Assembly RH Outputs seat position signals related to the position and reclining angle of the rear right seat to the multi-display controller sub-assembly.
    Position Control ECU Assembly LH Outputs seat position signals related to the position and reclining angle of the rear left seat to the multi-display controller sub-assembly.
    Air Conditioning Control Assembly Inputs signals output from the rear multi operation panel, and then outputs them to the radio receiver assembly through the multi-display.
    Combination Meter Assembly
    • Outputs vehicle speed signals to the stereo component amplifier assembly.

    • Displays audio source status information received from the radio receiver assembly on the multi-information display.

    • Outputs audio system operation signals to the radio receiver assembly.

    No. 1 Stereo Jack Adapter Assembly
    • Outputs audio and video signals to the radio receiver assembly when an external device is connected.

    • Performs USB communication with the radio receiver assembly when a USB memory device, "iPod" or "iPhone" is connected.

    Stereo Component Amplifier Assembly Amplifies audio signals output from the radio receiver assembly and sends them to each speaker.

    1. Rear Seat Entertainment System Functions


      1. On-screen Display Function


        • The radio receiver assembly receives operation signals from the rear multi operation panel and controls audio source switching and song/station selection.

        • Radio receiver assembly control information is output to the television display assembly through the multi-display controller sub-assembly and the control status is displayed on the screen.

        • Audio source screen settings can be changed by touching "Advanced" on the rear multi operation panel.

      2. Video Quality Adjustment Function


        • The video quality can be adjusted by operating the rear multi operation panel.

        • A maximum of 4 items* can be adjusted to change the video quality in response to the screen: Brightness, Contrast, Tone and Color.

          Tech Tips

          *: The items that can be adjusted differ depending on the selected audio source.

      3. Screen Size Switching Function


        • The screen size can be adjusted by operating the rear multi operation panel. *1

        • The screen size can be switched between "Normal", "Full" and "Zoom"*2.

          Tech Tips

          *1: It may not be possible to switch the size depending on the displayed screen.

          *2: The items that can be changed differ depending on the selected audio source.

      4. Settings Function


        • The display screen can be set by operating the rear multi operation panel.

        • A maximum of 4 items*1 can be set: "Screen Off"*2, "LCD AI"*3, "Super Resolution"*4 and "PAL VIDEO"*5.

          Tech Tips

          *1: The items that can be set differ depending on the selected audio source.

          *2: The screen display can be turned off without interrupting the audio output.

          *3: The brightness of the video on the display is automatically judged and the contrast is controlled in real time, optimizing the video.

          *4: A digital filtering process is optimally performed based on the characteristics of the image outline and gradation areas displayed on the screen, artificially improving the resolution.

          *5: The system switches between NTSC signals and PAL signals based on video signals input to the No. 1 stereo jack adapter assembly.

      5. Tilt Function


        • The television display assembly angle adjustment and auto tilting function settings can be changed by operating the rear multi operation panel.

      6. Operation Functions Available from Front Seats


        • When "REAR" is selected from the audio source selection screen on the multi-display, the "REAR" screen that enables the user to operate the rear seat entertainment system on the multi-display is displayed.

        • "Power"*1, "Rear System Lock"*2 and "Speaker Output"*3 can be operated on the "REAR" screen.

          *1: The power source of the television display assemblies can be turned on and off.

          *2: The audio operation acceptance for the television display assemblies can be turned on and off.

          *3: The linked operation between the audio source selection and front seats can be turned on and off.

      7. Front and Rear Seat Independent Function


        • The multi-display can be used to select a separate audio source for the rear seats while an audio source is already selected. In addition, when the rear seats are operating independently, the audio of the mode that differs from the front seats is output from the headphones. *

          Tech Tips

          *: In order for the rear seats to operate independently, the "Speaker Output" setting needs to be turned off on the "REAR" screen for audio source selection on the multi-display or the audio source selection screen on the television display assemblies.

      8. Rear Left and Right Seat Independent Function


        • When separate audio sources are selected for the front and rear seats*1, Rear-DISC mode, Rear-DLNA mode, Rear-Miracast mode, Rear-HDMI mode or Rear-SD mode can be independently selected for the rear left and right seats. *2

          Tech Tips

          *1: In order for the rear seats to operate independently, the "Speaker Output" setting needs to be turned off on the "REAR" screen for audio source selection on the multi-display, or the audio source selection screen on the television display assemblies.

          *2: When the same audio source that is currently selected for the front seats is selected for the rear seats, the same audio source as the front seats is displayed.
