COOLING SYSTEM


  1. OUTLINE


    1. The cooling system is a pressurized, forced-circulation type.

    2. A cooling fan control system in which the cooling fan controller optimally controls the cooling fan speed is used. For details, see the 8GR-FXS ENGINE CONTROL section.

    3. TOYOTA Genuine Super Long Life Coolant (SLLC) is used.

    4. A water-cooled type engine oil cooler is used on specified models.

    5. A heater water pump (heater accessory assembly) is used. For details, see the HEATING / AIR CONDITIONING section.

  2. SPECIFICATION


    1. Engine Coolant


      1. TOYOTA Genuine Super Long Life Coolant (SLLC) is used. The maintenance interval is as shown in the table below:

        Engine Coolant Type Toyota Genuine Super Long Life Coolant (SLLC) or similar high quality ethylene glycol based non-silicate, non-amine, non-nitrite and non-borate coolant with long-life hybrid organic acid technology (coolant with long-life hybrid organic acid technology is a combination of low phosphates and organic acids). Do not use plain water alone.

        Tech Tips

        SLLC is pre-mixed (50% coolant and 50% deionized water). Therefore, no dilution is needed when SLLC in the vehicle is added or replaced.

    2. Thermostat

      Thermostat Opening Temperature 80 to 84°C (176 to 183°F)
