OUTLINE
Exhaust Emission Control System
A tandem type catalytic converter is used to ensure sufficient emission performance. Also, the FLAD base material is used for the rear catalytic converter to optimize the cell density, improving exhaust purification performance and reducing exhaust pressure loss.
The ECM controls fuel injection volume based on the signals from the air fuel ratio sensor, optimizing the exhaust emissions.
Cooled Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Control System
Cooled EGR control, which reduces the combustion temperature by recirculation of exhaust gas, to ensure fuel economy, is used.
Evaporative Emission Control System
The evaporative emission control system prevents the fuel vapor that is created in the fuel tank assembly from being released directly into the atmosphere.
The canister stores the fuel vapor that has been created in the fuel tank assembly.
This system consists of a purge VSV, canister, pressure control valve and ECM.
The ECM controls the purge VSV in accordance with the driving conditions in order to direct the fuel vapor into the engine, where it is burned.
A canister filter is provided on the fresh air line. This air filter is maintenance-free.
