LIGHTING SYSTEM


  1. FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENTS

    Component Function
    Headlight ECU Sub-assembly RH Shuts down power to the headlights and clearance lights.
    Headlight ECU Sub-assembly LH
    No. 3 Semiconductor Power Integration ECU Shuts down power to the taillights, license plate lights and rear fog lights.
    Turn Signal Switch Light Control Switch Outputs a light control switch position signal and transmits it to the steering sensor.
    Main Body ECU (Multiplex Network Body ECU) Receives various signals and turns off the exterior lights.
    Steering Sensor Sends the light control switch position signal to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU).
    Front Door Courtesy Light Switch Assembly RH Detects whether a door is open or closed and sends the signal to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU).

    Front Door Lock with Motor Assembly RH Door Lock Position Switch Sends door lock/unlock condition signals to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU).

    Certification ECU (Smart Key ECU Assembly)
    • Sends engine switch condition signals to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU).

    • Sends the door lock/unlock operation signal to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU).

    Central Gateway ECU (Network Gateway ECU) Relays the signal between the CAN communication lines.
  2. SYSTEM CONTROL


    1. The light auto turn-off system operates as follows:

      Models for Europe and Malaysia
      Function Operation Condition
      Headlights Auto Turn-off

      When all of the following conditions are met, the headlights and cornering lights* automatically turn off:


      • The engine switch is turned off.

      • The light control switch is in the TAIL or HEAD position.

      Exterior Light Auto Turn-off

      When both of the following conditions are met, the exterior lights automatically turn off:


      • The engine switch is turned off.

      • The headlight dimmer switch is in the AUTO position.

      Function Operation Condition
      Driver Door-linked

      When all of the following conditions are met, the exterior lights automatically turn off:


      • The engine switch is turned from on (IG) to off.

      • The taillight are on (light control switch is in the TAIL or AUTO position.)

      • The driver door is closed and then opened.

      Delay

      When all of the following conditions are met, the exterior lights automatically turn off after 30 seconds:


      • The engine switch is turned from on (IG) to off.

      • The headlights are on (light control switch is in the HEAD or AUTO position).

      • All doors are closed after any of the doors are opened.

      Key-linked

      When the delay function is active and the following condition is met, the exterior lights turn off immediately:


      • All doors are locked.

      Function Operation Condition
      Exterior Light Auto Turn-off

      When both of the following conditions are met, the exterior lights automatically turn off:


      • The engine switch is turned from on (IG) to off.

      • The driver door is closed and then opened.
