LIGHTING SYSTEM

  1. FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENTS

    Component Function
Headlight ECU Sub-assembly RH Receives multi weather light control signal and illuminates the cornering lights.
    Headlight ECU Sub-assembly LH
    • Receives various signals and illuminates the cornering lights.

    • Sends the multi weather light control signal to the headlight ECU sub-assembly RH.

Turn Signal Switch Light Control Switch Sends the light control switch position signal to the steering sensor.
Rear Fog Light Switch Sends the rear fog light switch position signal to the steering sensor.
Main Body ECU (Multiplex Network Body ECU) Sends lo beam light illumination command signals to the headlight ECU sub-assembly.
Steering Sensor Sends the light control switch position signal and rear fog light switch to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU).
Skid Control ECU Assembly*1 Sends the wheel speed signal to the combination meter Assembly.
    Skid Control ECU*2
Combination Meter Assembly Sends the vehicle speed signal to the headlight ECU sub-assembly LH.
Central Gateway ECU (Multiplex Network Body ECU) Relays the signal between the CAN communication lines.
DLC3 Can read the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) of malfunctions by connecting the Global TechStream (GTS).

*1: Models with electronically controlled brake system

*2: Models with vacuum brake booster

  2. SYSTEM CONTROL

    1. When the following conditions are met and the rear fog light switch in the turn signal switch is turned on, the multi weather light system illuminates the cornering lights.

      • The low beam headlights are on.

      • The vehicle speed is approximately less than 45 km/h (28 mph).

      Tech Tips

Whether the multi weather lights or cornering lights illuminate when the rear fog light switch is on can be turned on and off by using a Global TechStream (GTS).

    2. When the vehicle speed becomes approximately 45 km/h (28 mph)or more after the cornering lights are illuminated, the cornering lights turn off.

      Tech Tips

The multi weather light system continues to operate after the cornering lights turn off.

    3. When the cornering lights turn off because the vehicle speed exceeds approximately 45 km/h or more, the cornering lights illuminate again when the vehicle speed becomes less than 35 (22 mph) km/h.

  3. FUNCTION

    1. A multi weather light system is provided, which illuminates the cornering lights to ensure visibility during bad weather when the vehicle is driven through rain or fog. Also, the optical axis of the low beam headlights is lowered to prevent the expansion of the forward illumination, achieving a reduction in glare to support the driver.
