WIPER AND WASHER SYSTEM

  1. CONSTRUCTION

    1. A double outlet pump, in which the washer pumps for upward and downward sweep operations are integrated, is used to achieve weight reduction.

    2. The double outlet pump rotates in the normal or reverse direction according to the direction that the wiper blades are moving so that washer fluid is sprayed in the same direction.

  2. OPERATION

    1. Windshield Washer Motor and Pump Assembly

      1. When washer fluid is sprayed, the motor rotates in the normal or reverse direction according to the upward or downward sweep operation. As a result, the impeller is rotated so that washer fluid is pressure-fed.

      2. Due to the differential pressure between the discharge side and non-discharge side generated by the impeller rotation, the pressure on the discharge side becomes higher than the non-discharge side. As a result, the spraying passage on the opposite side is blocked by the diaphragm and washer fluid only sprays on the discharge side.
