FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENTS
| Component | Function | |
|---|---|---|
| Rear Curtain Sub-assembly | Sunshade Motor | Activates the motor according to operation signals from the rear multiplex network door ECU. |
| Hall IC | Outputs pulse signals and determines if there is a jam in the rear door sunshade according to the pulse length. | |
| Rear Side Window Curtain Assembly | Sunshade Motor | Actuates the motor according to actuation signals from the auto curtain control relay. |
| Hall IC | Outputs pulse signals and determines if there is a jam in the rear door sunshade according to the pulse length. | |
| Automatic Curtain Control Relay | Inputs actuation signals from the rear multiplex network door ECU through the main body ECU and actuates the sunshade motor. | |
| Rear Multi Operation Panel (Rear Power Seat Switch)

OPERATION
Deployment/Retraction Operation
When the rear multi operation panel or the rear door sunshade switch (RH) on the multiplex network master switch assembly is operated, this operation activates the sunshade motors of the rear curtain sub-assembly RH and rear side window curtain assembly RH to deploy or retract the rear door sunshade RH.
When the rear multi operation panel or the rear door sunshade switch (LH) on the multiplex network master switch assembly is operated, this operation activates the sunshade motors of the rear curtain sub-assembly RH and rear side window curtain assembly LH to deploy or retract the rear door sunshade LH.
This operation cannot be canceled while the rear door sunshade is being deployed or retracted.
The rear door sunshade can only be deployed when the rear door glass is fully closed.
When an attempt is made to open the rear door glass while the rear door sunshade is being deployed, it automatically switches to a retraction operation.
The pulse sensor (Hall IC) memorizes the fully open position the first time that the rear door sunshade is operated. As a result, the operation stops just before the mechanical lock position, eliminating unnecessary motor locks to protect the mechanism.
Rear Door Sunshade Jam Protection Function Operation
A jam protection function is provided for the rear door sunshade in consideration of safety.
When the jam protection function detects jams due to foreign matter between the rear door sunshade and window frame, a reverse operation is performed for a certain amount of time.
Key-off Operation
Rear door sunshade operations are only possible for approximately 60 seconds after the engine switch is turned from on (IG) to on (ACC) or off.*
*: Operation using the multiplex network switch assembly is possible for 45 seconds.
FAIL-SAFE
When a malfunction is detected in the Hall IC that detects the position, speed and direction of the rear door sunshade, the multiplex network door ECU and auto curtain control relay enter fail-safe mode via the self-diagnostic function.
| No. | Item | Situation | Operation after Detection |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Pulse Sensor Malfunction (Single Pulse) | Occurs when a certain value or more of only one pulse of 2 pulses is detected. | Motor stops |
| 2 | Pulse Direction Abnormality | Occurs when the sunshade motor actuation direction and reverse direction pulses are sent in succession when the rear door sunshade is opening or closing, and a value greater than or equal to the specified quantity is detected. | Motor stops |
