OUTLINE
The automatic air conditioning system uses left and right independent temperature control and neural network control to enhance comfort.*1
A 4-zone temperature control, which can adjust the temperature of the rear seats independently, is provided in addition to the left and right independent temperature control.*2
The Infrared Rays (IR) matrix sensor for detecting the surface temperature of the front and rear occupants is provided.*2
An inside-and-outside dual air layer type air conditioning unit is used. The upper layer ensures anti fogging performance by introducing outside air, and the lower layer aims for ventilation loss reduction by circulating the inside air, achieving energy conservation.
Lexus climate concierge is used to offer a superior feeling of comfort by achieving cooperative control performance between automatic air conditioning system control, the seat heater system, the climate control seat system and the steering wheel heater system.*3
A Lexus climate concierge monitor, which makes it possible to set the air conditioning system, seat heater system, climate control seat system and steering wheel heater system to AUTO mode all at once and check the operation conditions visually, is used on models with Lexus climate concierge.*3
S-FLOW control is used to concentrate the air outlets on the driver seat or front seats when the temperature and moisture in the cabin are stable, thus aiming for a reduction in the burden on the air conditioning to achieve energy conservation.

PRECAUTION
Precaution for Refrigerant HFO-1234yf (R1234yf)
Compatibility
The parts used in the refrigerant cycle, the compressor oil, etc. of the HFO-1234yf (R1234yf) system are not compatible with the conventional HFC-134a (R134a) system.
Always use HFO-1234yf (R1234yf) as the refrigerant.
CAUTION:
Do not charge the system with refrigerant near open flames, as HFO-1234yf (R1234yf) is combustible.
When charging the system with refrigerant, make sure the area is well ventilated (especially be careful in areas where the gas can easily accumulate such as under lifts and in garage pits, as the gas is heavier than air).
Follow any local regulations regarding combustible gases.
Be sure to use a refrigerant recovery unit that is compatible with HFO-1234yf (R1234yf) systems.
Tech Tips
The shape of the service port for refrigerant charging has an exclusive design conforming to international standards for HFO-1234yf (R1234yf) to prevent improper refrigerant charging.
Compressor Oil
Always use ND-OIL 12 as the compressor oil.
When parts of the air conditioning system are removed, quickly block off any areas that are exposed to the outside air with plugs, vinyl tape, etc., as the oil used for HFO-1234yf (R1234yf) systems absorbs moisture easily.
Do not allow the compressor oil to spray, as the oil used for HFO-1234yf (R1234yf) systems has harmful effects on acrylic resins.
