PARKING SUPPORT ALERT SYSTEM


  1. CONSTRUCTION


    1. The television camera assembly is located in the luggage compartment door.

    2. The television camera assembly consists of a screen input component with a wide-angle lens and a video signal output component with a small type color Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) camera.

    3. The video screen of the television camera assembly reverses the video output from the television camera assembly, to match the view as if looking to the rear in the inner rear view mirror assembly. Note that this means that the video is horizontally reversed from what would be actually seen to the rear (objects on the left of the vehicle are on the left side of the screen, while objects on the right side of the vehicle are on the right side of the screen).

  2. OPERATION


    1. The screen signal output component uses Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) image elements to convert the image captured by (input into) the lens into an electric signal based on the brightness of the image, then outputs it to the multi-display.

    2. The television camera assembly detects pedestrians behind the vehicle, and sends a pedestrian detection signal to the parking assist ECU.
