OUTLINE
The multi-display cannot play back videos (such as DVDs) while the vehicle is in motion. Therefore, a rear seat entertainment system is provided to play back video on the television display assembly even when the vehicle is in motion.
Note
If the television display assembly on the back of the front passenger seat is positioned where the driver can see the video while driving*, a full-screen warning screen is displayed on the television display assembly for safety. In order to resume the video on the television display assembly, it is necessary to adjust the front passenger seat to a position where the driver cannot see the television display assembly. The warning screen is not displayed when a still image is displayed.
*: On models for Hong Kong, if the television display assembly on the back of the front passenger seat is positioned where the driver can see the video, a full-screen warning screen is displayed regardless of the driving conditions.
The rear seat entertainment system consists of a rear multi operation panel (used to operate the rear seat entertainment system), 2 television display assemblies, a disc player assembly, an HDMI terminal, 2 headphone terminals, etc.

A disc player assembly, which is used to play movies on DVDs and Blu-ray discs and view videos, musics and pictures from SD cards, is provided. In addition to the DVD and Blu-ray playback functions, a Wi-Fi function is installed to enable Wi-Fi communication with smartphones and tablets. The following functions can be used via Wi-Fi communication.
Note
When the Bluetooth function and Wi-Fi function are used at the same time, the functions may operate more slowly.
The Wi-Fi communication speed may become slow or communication may not be possible depending on the user's operating environment (such as the interior and surrounding environment).
The audio source using Bluetooth communication and the one using Wi-Fi communication interfere with each other, so they cannot be used at the same time. For example, when the audio source using Bluetooth communication is being used via the multi-display, the one using Wi-Fi communication cannot be used via the television display assembly.
When Bluetooth communication is used in the front seats, Wi-Fi communication for the rear seats is canceled. Therefore, the source using Wi-Fi communication cannot be used in the rear seats.
MiracastTMFunction*1, *2
This function uses Wi-Fi*2 (P2P mode*3) to broadcast video and audio that is being played on a smartphone or tablet to the television display assemblies. (Mirroring Playback Function)
The audio volume of Miracast is based on the audio volume that is set for the connected mobile device and the rear seat entertainment system.
When front and rear seat independent operations are performed, different mobile devices can be connected for the front and rear seats via MiracastTM. As a result, it is possible to watch different videos on the multi-display and television display assembly using the mirroring playback function.
Tech Tips
*1: The MiracastTMfunction of this device is Wi-Fi CERTIFIED Miracast by the Wi-Fi Alliance.
*2: "Wi-Fi", "Wi-Fi Direct", "Wi-Fi CERTIFIED Miracast" and "Miracast" are registered trademarks of the Wi-Fi Alliance.
*3: P2P mode allows devices to directly connect to each other to send and receive data.
DLNA Function
This function enables the user to access data (videos, music, pictures) that is stored in an AV device, smartphone, tablet, etc. via Wi-Fi*1 connection.
Miracast performs mirroring playback of videos from smartphones and tablets. On the other hand, the DLNA function enables the user to start other applications while watching videos that are stored in smartphones and tablets on the television display assemblies if the DLNA applications*2 installed on smartphones and tablets are compatible with background transmission.
Multiple mobile devices can be connected using the DLNA function. In that case, the most recently connected mobile device is given priority.
Tech Tips
*1: "Wi-Fi", "Wi-Fi Direct", "Wi-Fi CERTIFIED Miracast" and "Miracast" are registered trademarks of the Wi-Fi Alliance.
*2: There are DLNA applications with a server function and DLNA applications without a server function. DLNA applications without a server function cannot be used with the rear seat entertainment system.
A high-resolution sound source compatible function is installed to support playing back high-resolution sound sources. High-resolution sound sources have the following characteristics.
High-resolution sound sources have larger information capacities than music CDs, enabling sound reproduction with higher fidelity to the original sound.
WAV, FLAC, ALAC and Ogg Vorbis formats are supported and only high-resolution sound source files stored on USB memory devices or SD memory cards.
The television display assemblies are installed behind the headrests of the driver and front passenger seats so that rear passengers can enjoy watching videos at an optimal viewing angle.
In addition to an LCD AI function, which optimizes the screen brightness according to audio source videos selected for the rear seats, a super-resolution function, which performs optimized video processing to artificially improve the resolution, is used. As a result, the user can always enjoy high-quality DVD and Blu-ray videos.

MAIN FEATURES
Television Display Assemblies
An 11.6-inch wide display is used for the television display assemblies to achieve a large screen size.
The television display assemblies are installed behind the headrests of the driver and front passenger seats. As a result, the passengers can play separate audio sources in the front and rear seats as well as in the left and right rear seats.
An automatic angle adjustment (tilting) mechanism, which automatically adjusts the tilt angle of the television display assemblies according to the driver, front passenger and rear seats, is used, enabling the user to watch videos at an optimal viewing angle.
Voice Output
When front and rear seat-linked operations are performed, the sound from the audio source selected for the rear seats is output from the vehicle speakers.
When front and rear seat independent operations are performed, if a different audio source is selected for the rear seats, the sound from the audio source selected for the rear seats is only output to headphones.
Wired type headphones are supported to enable the user to enjoy watching videos comfortably even if different audio sources are selected between rear left and right seats.
Rear Seat Entertainment System Operation
Television display assembly operations, such as switching audio sources, can be performed using the rear multi operation panel.
Left and right switches are located on the rear multi operation panel, and users can independently operate the television display assembly on their side by pressing the corresponding switch.
