NAVIGATION SYSTEM / MULTI INFORMATION SYSTEM

  1. OUTLINE

    1. A 12.3-inch type multi-display is provided to display screens such as a map screen and menu screen.

    2. Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) are used to provide mercury-free backlighting for the multi-display. This reduces the burden on the environment and ensures brightness.

    3. The multi-display is provided at the same height as the combination meter assembly to minimize changes in the driver's line of sight and ensure visibility while driving.

    4. Due to the change in the multi-display assembly location, the remote touch is used to ensure operability.

      B0056P0
    5. A fuel consumption screen is provided in consideration of the environment.

    6. The navigation system sends navigation information to the combination meter assembly or headup display*. The user can view a compass display and turn-by-turn directions to the destination, etc. on the multi-information display or headup display*.

      *: Models with headup display

    7. A split display function is provided. Due to this function, the map screen and the audio screen or vehicle information screen can be displayed on the single screen simultaneously.

    8. For high altitude areas, the real terrain map, which enhances the map quality using gradient data in predetermined scales, is displayed.*

*: Except for Europe and Russia

    9. The Enform App Suite service is supported. This service makes it possible to operate specified applications on the navigation system by using Bluetooth and USB to connect the navigation system to a cellular phone with the Enform App Suite application installed.*

*: Enform App Suite service is available in the contiguous Oceania.

    10. During route guidance, the user can confirm traffic information, such as congestion and accidents, by using the traffic bar on the map screen. The traffic bar shows information in the area from the current position to the destination or stopover (maximum: 100 km (65 miles)).*

*: For Europe, Russia, Oceania, China, Thailand, South Africa and Taiwan

    11. Reception of the Transport Protocol Experts Group (TPEG) service, which shows Traffic Flow and Traffic Prediction (TFP) information on the map screen, is available. This service makes it possible to show a route with consideration of TFP information and display the location, fee and status (occupied or vacant) of parking lots.*

*: For Europe and Russia (can be used with networks that can receive TPEG information)

    12. Connected Services are supported. This allows the user to search for new establishments or establishments that are not registered to the map and set them as a destination. In addition, it is possible to download Point Of Interest (POI) and route information that was searched for on the Lexus portal site and set it as a destination or register it to the map.*

      *: For Europe and Russia

    13. The navigation system supports a function used for the export/import of memory points. This function enables memory point data stored on the radio receiver assembly to be transferred to another navigation system (such as another radio receiver assembly) via a USB memory device.

    14. The G-BOOK system can be used to link the vehicle to the G-BOOK communication center.*

      *: For China

    15. POIs that are searched for using a smartphone application can be sent to the radio receiver assembly via Bluetooth and set as a destination.

    16. Wi-Fi Communication (For Europe, Russia, Near and Middle East, China, South Africa and Thailand )

      1. A wireless LAN antenna is integrated into the radio receiver assembly, enabling Wi-Fi communication to the user's tethering-compatible cellular phone or mobile Wi-Fi router.

        Tech Tips

Wi-Fi communication may be unavailable depending on the condition of the vehicle, device and surroundings (such as the presence of radio waves around the radio receiver assembly) and the distance to the device. In addition, during Wi-Fi communication, communication may be cut or become unstable due to the conditions described above.

  2. PRECAUTION

    1. Read the following precautions before operating the remote touch.

      1. Touch operations

        • Operate using a finger (the pad of the finger).

        • Move the pointer and cursor by using one finger. The pointer and cursor cannot be moved using two or more fingers.

        • The system does not respond to pens, etc.

        • When performing a touch operation, make sure that other fingers do not touch the touch pad.

        • Do not use excessive force or pointed objects when pressing on the touch pad.

        • In the following situations, touch operations may not be possible. In such situations, temporarily remove your finger from the touch pad, and then perform the touch operation again.

          B005625E02
      2. Situations when normal response may not occur from touch operation

        • Gloves, etc. are worn.

        • The touch pad is operated with wet hands.

        • A coating, film, etc. is applied to the surface of the touch pad.

        • The touch pad is dirty or has liquid or other foreign matter attached to it.

        • The vehicle is in an area where strong electrical waves or noise are emitted, such as near a television tower, power plant, gasoline station, broadcasting station, large display or airport.

        • Wireless devices such as radios, cell phones, etc. are carried.

        • The temperature is -20°C (-4°F) or less.

        • The touch pad is in contact with, or covered by, the following metallic objects.

          • Coins

          • Car keys or house keys

          • A wallet or bag that is made of metal

          • A card that has metal on it, such as aluminum foil

          • A pack of cigarettes that uses aluminum foil

          • A heating pad

          • CDs, DVDs or other media, or cables such as USB cables

        • Non-response may occur if the engine switch is turned on (ACC) or on (IG) while the touch pad is touched, a hand is close to the touch pad, foreign matter is on the touch pad, or the touch pad is wet. In this situation, after removing any foreign matter or water, wait approximately 30 seconds before performing any operations. Or, turn the engine switch off once, and then turn it to on (ACC) or on (IG) to return the system to normal.

      3. Other

        • When the touch pad is dirty, non-response may occur. Clean it frequently. Turn the engine switch off before cleaning.

        • While the touch pad is waterproof, do not apply a large amount of water to the remote touch, as doing so may result in a malfunction.

        • If a sugary drink, such as coffee, is spilled onto the touch pad, sugar in the drink may remain in the gaps around the touch pad once the drink dries and result in non-response. Therefore, make sure to immediately wipe up any spills.
