SYSTEM CONTROL
When the driver switches from the brake pedal to the accelerator pedal when starting off on a hill, hill-start assist control maintains the brake fluid pressure of all 4 wheels to prevent the vehicle from rolling backward.
When starting off on a hill, hill-start assist control allows the driver to slowly switch from the brake pedal to the accelerator pedal in a relaxed manner without the vehicle rolling backwards. Furthermore, occasions in which the parking brake is required to prevent the vehicle from rolling backward has been minimized.
When starting off on a hill with a slippery road surface, the driver does not need to swiftly depress the accelerator which can lead to unnecessary wheelspin.
