STOP AND START


  1. OPERATION


    1. The combination meter assembly receives the idling on/off signals from the engine stop and start ECU.

    2. By changing the display mode of the multi-information display by operating the multi-information switch on the steering pad switch assembly, the amount of time idling stop was performed since the engine switch was turned on (IG) to when the engine switch was turned off or the amount of time idling stop was performed since the reset switch was last pressed can be displayed.

    3. The system operation status or warning information is indicated to the driver through the following means:


      • Illuminating or flashing the stop and start indicator light and stop and start cancel indicator light on the combination meter assembly.

      • Sounding a buzzer.

      • Displaying other information on the multi-information display and odo/trip meter.

      *: The blinking interval is 0.5 seconds.

    4. Multi-information Display Operation


      1. An indicator and/or messages are displayed on the multi-information display to indicate condition of the stop and start system when certain vehicle conditions are met.

        "Battery Charging"
        • The battery charge amount may be low.

        • A refresh charge may be occurring.

        "Stop & Start Unavailable" The engine may have been started with the hood opened.
        "System Temperature Low" The battery may be cold.
        "System Temperature High" The battery may be extremely hot.
        "In Preparation"
        • The brake booster load decreased.

        • The vehicle is operated at a high elevation.

        "For Climate Control"
        • The air conditioning system is being used when the ambient temperature is high or low.

        • Windshield defogger is pressed.

        "Driver Seat Belt Unbuckled" The driver seat belt is not fastened.
        "Steering Wheel Turned" The steering wheel is being turned.
        "Depress Brake Firmly to Activate" The brake pedal is not depressed enough.
        When the engine automatically restarts while stopped by the stop and start system B0056SY "Driver Seat Belt Unbuckled" The driver seat belt is not fastened.
        "Steering Wheel Turned" The steering wheel is turned.
        "In Preparation" The brake pedal is strongly depressed furtherer pumped.
        "For Climate Control"
        • The air conditioning system is turned on or the air conditioning is being used.

        • Windshield defogger is turned on.

        "Battery Charging" The battery charge amount may be low.
        The system may be malfunctioning - "Stop & Start System Malfunction Visit Your Dealer" -
