INTAKE SYSTEM

  1. OUTLINE

    1. A dual intake system, which changes the air inlet in 2 stages according to the driving conditions, is used.

    2. ETCS-i control and twin throttle system are used and a single valve type electronic throttle body with motor assembly is equipped to each bank.

    3. A compact and lightweight resin silicon chip plug-in type intake mass air flow meter sub-assembly is used.

    4. The air cleaner is installed by inserting grommets with a low spring constant at 3 points, achieving decreased transmission of vibrations that occur from intake air pulsations. In addition, by removing the need to tighten the bolts, it is possible to perform removal and installation for the air cleaner without using any tools, improving serviceability.

    5. An intake air surge tank with intercooler assembly with the integrated surge tank and intercooler is used.

    6. A turbocharger sub-assembly and intercooler has been positioned at each bank by using a high efficiency and high output twin-turbo system.

    7. A wastegate valve and an electric wastegate actuator are used for the turbocharger sub-assembly. When the vehicle is being driven at low load (supercharging not necessary), the back pressure and pumping loss are reduced during the exhaust stroke due to the wastegate valve opening. In addition, fine boost pressure control is made possible with the electric wastegate actuator.

    8. A dedicated coolant path is provided for the turbocharger sub-assembly and intercooler assembly. A sub radiator assembly is used in addition to the electric water pump assembly and intercooler cooling radiator assembly.
