EVAPORATIVE EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM(w/o Canister Pump Module)

  1. FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENTS

    Component Function
Charcoal Canister Assembly Contains activated charcoal to absorb the fuel vapor that is created in the fuel tank assembly.
Purge VSV (Duty Vacuum Switching Valve) Opens in accordance with the signals from the ECM when the system is purging, in order to send the fuel vapor that was absorbed by the charcoal canister assembly into the intake manifold.
ECM Controls the purge VSV (duty vacuum switching valve) in accordance with the signals from various sensors, in order to achieve a purge volume that suits the driving conditions.
  2. FUNCTION

    1. The fuel fumes absorbed by the canister are drawn to the intake port through the purge port installed downstream from the throttle valve.

    2. The ECM controls the purge flow of the evaporative emission (HC) from the charcoal canister assembly in accordance with engine conditions.

    3. A purge VSV (duty vacuum switching valve assembly) is provided and a check valve is provided inside the intake manifold to prevent the reverse flow of intake air towards the canister due to the turbo pressure.
