  1. CONSTRUCTION


    1. A structure is used that positions the chain between the timing chain cover assembly and timing chain or belt cover sub-assembly. As a result, this improves the sealing characteristics between the timing chain cover assembly, the cylinder head and cylinder block.

    2. A die-cast aluminum timing chain cover is used, achieving weight reduction.

    3. The timing chain or belt cover sub-assembly has a structure that can equip the cam timing oil control solenoid assembly (LH or RH), which controls Variable Valve Timing-intelligent (VVT-i) (a continuously variable valve timing mechanism), and the cam timing control motor with EDU assembly (LH or RH), which controls Variable Valve Timing-intelligent by Electric motor (VVT-iE) (a continuously variable valve timing mechanism).

    4. A service hole for the chain tensioner is provided on the timing chain or belt cover sub-assembly to improve maintenance serviceability.

    5. The oil pump is integrated with the timing chain cover assembly and the engine water pump assembly is integrated with the timing chain or belt cover sub-assembly, reducing the number of individual parts.
