| Seat Memory Switch | Outputs "SET", "1", "2" and "3" switch operation signals to the front multiplex network door ECU LH/RH. | |
| Outer Mirror Switch Assembly (Multiplex Network Master Switch Assembly) | Mirror Surface Angle Adjustment Switch | Outputs mirror surface angle adjustment signals to the front multiplex network door ECU LH/RH according to switch operations. |
| Right/Left Selector Switch | Outputs left/right switching signals to the front multiplex network door ECU LH/RH according to switch operations. | |
| Retract/Return Switch | Outputs retract/return signals to the front multiplex network door ECU LH/RH according to switch operations. | |
| Auto Retract/Return Switch | Outputs operation switching signals of the auto power retract/return function to the front multiplex network door ECU LH/RH according to switch operations. | |
| DLC3 | The DTCs of malfunctioning parts can be read by connecting a diagnostic tool. | |
Tech Tips
*: Front Multiplex Network Door ECU LH only (LHD models)/Front Multiplex Network Door ECU RH only (RHD models)
SYSTEM CONTROL
Automatic Glare-resistant Electrochromic (EC) Dimming Function (Models with EC Mirror)
This function operates when both of the following conditions are met:
The AUTO switch of the inner rear view mirror assembly is pushed to select AUTO mode (when the engine switch is turned from off to on (IG), this system defaults to AUTO mode).
The inner rear view mirror assembly detects a large difference between the brightness of the surroundings and the headlights of a following car.
Reverse-linked Function (Models with Position Memory Function)
This function operates when all of the following conditions are met:
The engine switch is on (IG).
Either the R or L position of the right/left selector switch has been selected.
The shift position is moved to R.
Memory System (Mirror Surface Position Memory Function) (Models with Position Memory Function)
This function operates when any of the following conditions is met:
The seat memory switch is operated with the engine switch on (IG), the shift position in P and the mirror position stored in the memory system.
The seat memory switch is operated within approximately 180 seconds of opening the driver door with the engine switch off and the mirror position stored in the memory system.
The seat memory switch is operated within approximately 60 seconds of closing the driver door with the engine switch off and the mirror position stored in the memory system.
With the engine switch off, the driver door closed and the key ID registration of the memory call function complete, the doors are unlocked using the smart access system with push-button start or wireless door unlock function and then the driver door is opened.
FUNCTION
The outer rear view mirrors have the following functions:
| Function | Outline | |
|---|---|---|
| Electric Remote Mirrors | Remote Control Function | The adjustment axis of the mirror surface of the electric remote mirrors can be controlled by using the outer mirror switch (multiplex network master switch assembly). |
| Reverse-linked Function | This function tilts the mirror surface downward to improve visibility when reversing. If the mirror surface is adjusted via the outer mirror switch (multiplex network master switch assembly) while the reverse-linked function is operating, the new mirror position is stored as the default reverse-linked mirror position. | |
| Electric Retractable Mirrors | Manually-retractable Function | This function retracts the outside rear view mirrors when the retractable switch is pressed. |
| Automatically-retractable Function |
|
|
| Automatic Glare-resistant Electrochromic (EC) Dimming Function | During nighttime driving, if a large difference in intensity exists between the surrounding light and the light reflected off the inner rear view mirror assembly from the headlights of a following car, the automatic glare-resistant Electrochromic (EC) dimming function automatically reduces the reflection rate of the inner and outer rear view mirrors and thus dampens the glare from the mirrors. | |
| Memory System | This system stores the driver seat, outer rear view mirror and tilt and telescopic steering positions. Up to 3 memory positions can be stored in the system memory and recalled. | |
OPERATING CONDITION
| Function | Condition | User Operation | Operation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Manually-retractable Function | Engine switch is on (ACC) or on (IG) | Operates retract/return switch | Retracts/returns*1 |
| Automatically-retractable Function | Auto retract/return switch is on with engine switch off | Locks/unlocks door*2 |
Automatically retracts/returns |
| Reverse-linked Function | Reversing vehicle (left/right selection switch is R or L) | Changes shift position from not R to R | Automatically tilts down mirror surface angle of outer rear view mirror assembly*3 |
| Memory System*4 |
Driving position is memorized with engine switch on (IG) and shift position P | Operates seat memory switch | Memorizes/recalls mirror surface angle of outer rear view mirror assembly for up to 3 people |
| If driving position is memorized with engine switch off and shift position P, within approximately 60 seconds after closing driver door or within approximately 180 seconds after opening driver door | |||
| Driving position is memorized with engine switch off and driver door closed | Opens driver door after door unlock operation is performed by entry operation or wireless door lock/unlock operation. |
Tech Tips
*1: If the power source is turned off while a retract or return operation is in progress, the mirror continues to operate until the retract or return operation completes.
*2: Settings can be changed using the customization function. Refer to the Repair Manual for details.
*3: The default down tilt value is approximately 4.6° for the driver side mirror and approximately 4.2° for the passenger side mirror. Furthermore, after the shift position is changed to R and the mirror surface angle of the outer rear view mirror assembly automatically tilts down, the mirror surface position when reversing can be set as desired by operating the mirror surface angle adjustment switch.
*4: For details of the mirror surface position memory function, see the Power Seat Control System section.
