FLUSH HANDLE SYSTEM


  1. FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENTS

    Flush Handle LH (Door Outside Handle Sub-assembly LH) Flush Handle Motor Electronically extends and retracts the flush handles.
    Unlock Request Switch Detects user entry unlock operations.
    Lock Request Switch Detects user entry lock operations.
    Extend Position Detection Switch Detects that the flush handles are extended.
    Door Outside Handle Illumination Light Emits light when the flush handles are extended.
    Flush Handle RH (Door Outside Handle Sub-assembly RH) Flush Handle Motor Electronically extends and retracts the flush handles.
    Unlock Request Switch Detects user entry unlock operations.
    Lock Request Switch Detects user entry lock operations.
    Extend Position Detection Switch Detects that the flush handles are extended.
    Door Outside Handle Illumination Light Emits light when the flush handles are extended.

    Front Door Lock with Motor Assembly LH


    • Door Lock Motor

    • Door Lock Position Switch

    • Door Lock Control Switch


    • Rotates the built-in door lock motor in the extend and retract directions to lock and unlock the doors.

    • Uses the built-in door lock position switch to detect whether the doors are locked or unlocked and outputs the result to the main body ECU.

    • Detects the condition of the built-in door lock control switch and outputs mechanical key lock/unlock request signals to the main body ECU.

    Multiplex Network Master Switch Assembly


    • Door Control Switch

    Outputs door lock/unlock request signals, which are generated by door control switch operations, to the main body ECU.

    Power Window Regulator Switch Assembly


    • Door Control Switch

    Luggage Compartment Door Lock Assembly


    • Luggage Compartment Door Lock Motor

    • Luggage Compartment Door Courtesy Switch


    • Drives the built-in motor via the main body ECU control to open the luggage compartment door.

    • Outputs a luggage compartment door open signal to the main body ECU.

    No. 2 Luggage Room Relay Block


    • TRK OPN Relay

    Receives signals from the main body ECU and drives the luggage compartment door lock motor.
    Main Body ECU (Multiplex Network Body ECU)
    • Detects the vehicle condition using ECU and switch signals and controls the entire flush handle system.

    • When the flush handles are extended or retracted, sends flush handle operation requests to the multiplex network door ECU.

    Front Multiplex Network Door ECU LH
    • Receives flush handle operation requests from the main body ECU and outputs operation signals to the flush handle motor.

    • Routes switch signals from the flush handles to the main body ECU.

    • Routes door lock/unlock request signals from the door control switch to the main body ECU.

    Front Multiplex Network Door ECU RH
    Certification ECU (Smart Key ECU Assembly) When a user entry unlock/lock operation is detected, sends door lock/unlock request signals to the main body ECU.
    ECM Sends shift position signals to the main body ECU.
    Skid Control ECU Assembly Outputs vehicle speed signals.
    Radio Receiver Assembly Sends function customization information from the multi-display setting screen to the main body ECU.
    Multi-display Displays the settings screen.
    Combination Meter Assembly Sends a vehicle speed signal to the main body ECU.
    Central Gateway ECU (Network Gateway ECU) Relays the signal between the CAN communication lines.
    DLC3 The Global TechStream (GTS) can be connected to read the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) of malfunctions.
  2. FUNCTION


    1. Unlock Operation-linked Extend Function


      1. This function is linked with the unlock operation and electronically extends the flush handles.

        Entry Unlock The depression on the front end of the flush handle is pressed. Unlock Extend
        Wireless Unlock The unlock switch of the electrical key is pressed.
        Key-linked Unlock The mechanical key is inserted into the door key cylinder and turned in the unlock direction.
        Manual Switch Unlock The unlock switch of the door control switch is pressed.
    2. Lock Operation-linked Retract Function


      1. This function is linked with the lock operation and electronically retracts the flush handles.

        Entry Lock The rear end of an extended flush handle is pressed. Lock Retract
        Wireless Lock The lock switch of the electrical key is pressed.
        Key-linked Lock The mechanical key is inserted into the door key cylinder and turned in the lock direction.
        Manual Switch Lock The lock switch of the door control switch is pressed.
    3. Automatic Unlock-linked Extend Function


      1. This function is linked with the automatic door unlock operation and electronically extends the flush handles. However, it is not linked with the shift-linked automatic door unlock operation.

        Driver Door Opening-linked Automatic Unlock The driver door is opened within approximately 45 seconds after turning the engine switch off. Unlock Extend
        Collision Door Lock Release A collision occurs and 10 seconds elapse.
        Key Confinement Prevention Unlock It is detected that the electrical key is locked inside the vehicle.
    4. Automatic Lock-linked Retract Function


      1. This function is linked with the automatic lock operation and electronically retracts the flush handles.

        Shift-linked Automatic Door Lock The shift position is changed from P to any position other than P with the engine switch turned on (IG). Lock Retract
        Automatic Relock After an entry unlock or wireless unlock operation, no door is opened within approximately 30 seconds.
    5. Handle Timer Retract Function


      1. When none of the following timer reset operations are performed for approximately 60 seconds with the flush handle extended, the flush handle electronically retracts according to the timer. Also, after one of the following handle timer reset operations is performed, the handle timer starts counting again.

        • Door open or close operation

        • Luggage compartment door open or close operation

    6. Front End Press Extend Function


      1. When the depression on the front end of a retracted flush handle is pressed while the doors are unlocked, the handle electronically extends.

    7. Vehicle Speed-linked Retract Function


      1. When the vehicle speed exceeds 10 km/h (6 mph) with the engine switch on (IG), the flush handles electronically retract.

        The operation speed of the vehicle speed-linked retract function can be customized. Refer to the Repair Manual for details.

    8. Customization Function


      1. Settings can be changed as desired by the user. For details, refer to the Repair Manual.

  3. DIAGNOSIS


    1. In order to make system inspections easier to perform, a diagnosis function is used in consideration of serviceability. The Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) of malfunctions can be read by connecting the Global TechStream (GTS). For details, refer to the Repair Manual.
