LIGHTING SYSTEM


  1. FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENTS

    Component Function
    Automatic Light Control Sensor Detects the ambient light level and transmits them to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU).
    Central Gateway ECU (Network Gateway ECU) Relays the signal between the CAN communication lines.
    Certification ECU (Smart Key ECU Assembly)

    • Sends engine switch condition signals to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU).

    • Sends the wireless door lock/unlock operation signal to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU).
    Courtesy Light Switch LH/RH Detects whether a door is open or closed and sends the signal to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU).
    DLC3 The Global TechStream (GTS) can be connected to read the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) of malfunctions..
    Front Multiplex Network Door ECU LH/RH Sends the entry door lock/unlock operation signal to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU).

    Turn Signal Switch


    • Light Control Switch

    		 Sends the light control switch position signal to the steering sensor.
    No. 1 Headlight ECU Sub-assembly LH/RH Supplies power to the clearance lights.

    Luggage Compartment Door Lock Assembly


    • Luggage Door Courtesy Light Switch

    		 Detects whether a luggage door is open or closed and sends the signal to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU).
    Main Body ECU (Multiplex Network Body ECU) Receives various signals and sends clearance lights, taillights and license plate lights illumination signals.
    No. 3 Semiconductor Power Integration ECU Supplies power to the taillights and license plate lights.
    Steering Sensor Sends the light control switch position signal to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU).

  2. SYSTEM CONTROL


    1. The welcome light illumination system operates as follows:

      Condition Details
      System Activation

      When all of the following conditions are met, the welcome light illumination system operates.


      • The engine switch is off.

      • The light control switch is in the AUTO position.

      • The automatic light control sensor outputs the night mode signal (to turn the headlights on).
      Light Turn-on The clearance lights, taillights and license plate lights turns on for 15 seconds when the wireless door unlock operation or the entry door unlock operation is being used.
      Light Turn-off

      After the light is illuminated, the clearance lights, taillights and license plate lights are turned off when either of the following conditions is met before 15 seconds have elapsed.


      • The engine switch is on (IG).

      • The light control switch is in any position except the AUTO position.

      • Wireless door lock is performed.

      • Entry door lock is performed.

  3. FUNCTION


    1. The welcome light illumination system operates the clearance lights, taillights and license plate lights in conjunction with the locking and unlocking of the doors, ensuring nighttime usability.

    2. The welcome light illumination control function can be turned on and off using the customization function. For details, refer to the Repair Manual.
